Nocturne Tank?

Nocturne, as I've seen, isn't a champion that is used much so I decided to play him and such and I tried different builds and what I found was amazing. A tank assassin nocturne. As a jungler, I start out with the Cinderhulk enhancement and move on to items like the for attack and health/life steal. Having different opponents can change what defensive item I get, whether it be or and ending with for whatever reason you need them.

As a jungler I would say to go for gromp first and then blue buff, if your low health get scuttler for the life steal or wolves if you have high health and then scuttler. After that go wherever.

I'd recommend trying Devourer and Titanic Hydra into tank items.

He scales pretty well with attack speed. Wit's end might be a reasonable choice as well.

I get that Nocturne doesn't see a lot of play but can it really be considered balanced that he can build straight tank and still scale your face off? I get that "Tank" classified champions are supposed to have high damage so they can lane but his Per Level scaling is so high that he's left the jungle and tanking up the top lane now.

I personally think this is a huge issue. He's an assassin, he's not supposed to be able to fight 1v5 (cough, cough, old Khazix ).

Further more, I realize that this kind of power is difficult to balance and Nocturne doesn't see a lot of play so he's flying low under the radar. Not trying to hate on the Noc fans but from a non-biased point of view, you have to admit Tank Noc is a bit much.

As an assassin, like Yi, you should be able to 1v5 and quite well at that but Nocturne just doesn't have that AOE damage like Yi's Q. That's why the extra health is almost necessary and even then you can get easily CC'd because of the slow movement so adding to the build having item 3742 could be great. He's just such a diverse champ and no one plays him like I would want to see. Almost every top tier champ is an ADC (Graves, Kog'maw) and not ones like Nocturne that have this. He can go tank and deal damage from the high scaling or go full AD and just not care. I bet AP could work as well since his E is 100% AP scaling and just have the team go in when he does.

BotRK for Attack Speed and Lifesteal, DD for Damage and Lifesteal, Duskblade for the Kill Securing, Rageblade for that extra attack speed and AP, Either of the The Last Whisper items for the Armor Pen. and Phantom Dancer for chasing and Crits

Deadman's for the extra speed, health, and armor. Spirit Visage increases your passive, BT for that great Lifesteal and damage as Nocturne, BlackCleaver for the damage and health, same with the hydra but with the on-hit passive, and Sterak's Gage for health, increased base damage, and the passive.

Whatever you want to build, it works. But people don't want to play him. He is one of, if not the only, champion that I can call my favorite.
