Just finished a game where a player spammed ping at team for entire game. There is no way to turn of pings. It made the game unplayable. Is there something that can be done about this? The player's name was edit ;) and he also swore at team and told other team he was going to make us put up with him. Makes me not want to play this game any more and I have several hundred dollars sunk in it....
MackleDoge9 votesTo be honest, I think it making you "not want to play this game anymore" is a slight overreaction to having some ping spam. That being said, I do find this to be a rather annoying occurrence in a few games every now and then. I find the best solution is to just go ahead and mute the player and then recommend that your team does the same. At least at that point the player's swearing and verbal toxicity is removed.
As far as a method to make it so that pinging is turned off as a custom setting, is that really something that you want? Imagine the game of League where all of your teammates have pings turned off and now of them will respond or communicate. At the end of the day, I feel like that sort of option would do a lot more harm than good.

TSP DISINTEGRATE2 votesCertainly a spam setting should be in place. No more than say 3 per 15 seconds and while the 3 per 15 is on cooldown, allow only 1 per 5 seconds? Definitely some kind of limitation would be good.

Swenma1 votesI should have clarified. I want to have the option to "mute" a player, which means I want to receive no input from them. It wouldn't be a permanent block to pings. I love the ping mechanic and find it to be a very useful part of the game play. But it can be abused by a toxic player as there is no way to stop it.

Cypherous3 votesThey just need to revert it so that adding a player to ignore once again mutes their pings, i've heard the riot reasoning behind why they changed it and i think its BS, i only ever use ignore to mute ping spammers so without that the mute feature is worthless to me

3Demon3 votesBest you can do is ignore the pings. Sure you can uninstall the game but that's hundreds of dollars down the drain. Chances are you are not going to run into someone who overuses the ping button. Maybe one who is verbally harassing everyone, but that's what the block command is for

Lindsey Bot2 votesWhile this initially sounds like a great idea, this could easily be abused. In the tribunal, there is no evidence of pinging. A player could also report a player for spamming when they were just trying to help.
I sometimes ping multiple times when I notice a jungler is on his way to gank a lane. I choose to ping more than once because I know I sometimes fail to notice a single ping. Also, in the heat of a teamfight, no one will notice a single ping. If you want to point out that your team is attacking the tank and should focus the carry instead, you should ping multiple times to get your team's attention. While some people find these pings helpful, others may find them terribly annoying.
