This is BS Riot.

So my last game was my first in a promo series and encapsulates pretty much every single problem that this game has. Lets start at the beginning and I'll let you all decide whats messed up, what is REALLY messed up, and what was just flat out wrong.

So I queue, and get into champ select and I'm first pick. I let the ban timer tick away and let people call roles. Turns out we have some one for each position except jungle and its my fav role any ways so I'm first picking Eve or the Mummy. Bot lane is a duo it appears, sup and adc called and they interact with each other on an informal basis with some obviously inside joking going on. Picks start to happen, I'm playing eve, and then our sup insta locks in GP. the non duo players raise eyebrows at this but we let it slide, even the insta lock, although we arent happy about it. We get to our last pick, the other duo and our adc. She insta locks Soraka. The non duo members are all unhappy about it now, VERY unhappy, and I'm in a promo that I know is lost already and I should just dodge but I dont.

We load into game, I lay out my route and tell our top laner (Rumble vs a Riven matchup) to let her push and I'll be there right after red for FB (we are purple side). A botched invade by both teams, no one dies, everyone recalls for full hp, game starts like a normal game, normal leash, etc. Before I finish wraiths our mid Zed dies to kayle (both are still level 1, no level 2 cheese even) and blames me, and our top lane Rumble is pushing despite my advanced procedural rundown. I get to red and finish it RIGHT as rumble dies to riven, and I am blamed. I race up to top, kill her and race on down to mid, which has rammus ganking our Zed (who had somehow managed to FULLY push his lane again AFTER a death inside 2:30) and he gets killed so I abort and make a run through the jungle to our bot lane who is being pushed to our tower and is about to get zoned by Lucian/Janna. I sneak into the bush and make a play no kills but Lucian and Janna are forced from lane which at least allows our GP/Raka ADC combo to get some farm. Zed is now perma spamming in chat "GANK ME IDIOT" and some such nonsense. Thus far in the game I have typed nothing besides my intial procedure run down and a "stop pushing rumble, let riven push", but I'm starting to get pissed.

Zed dies again and is 0/3 before buffs respawn, and as blu respawns rammus abandons his bot lane gank to try to steal my buff with about half hp and I'm just getting there coming from base as he reaches it at the same time and pink wards my bush so we know its contested. kayle shows up low on hp, I ping for our bot lane and they show up after about 15 seconds of me dancing around with kayle and rammus and the attacked golem, fighting for the last smite. Our bot lane, despite being full hp on both just like myself minus a golem hit or two, fail in the ensuing fight vs the less than half hp rammus, 1/4 hp kayle, 1/3 hp lucian, and 1/3 hp janna. I get a triple and die to janna. I am immediately screamed at by bot lane, Zed, and Rumble who dies as the fight is going on for the third time to riven. At this point the game is 4 kills for us (all on me) to 9 for the opposing team (3 deaths for zed and rumble, 1 apiece for the rest of us). I'm furious, I'm taking flak from 4 SUPER r%%%%%s who either caused their own problems, ignored the advice I gave that would allow me to help them most effeciently, troll picked in champ select, or just flat out don't belong in the ranking they are at and probably I got the screw over in matchmaking.

This is 13 (Edit, sorry, it was actually 8 or 9 minutes, after first buff respawns) minutes into the game. At this point I lost it, I had kept my cool for ALL the bs before this, being positive and while raising an eyebrow at unconventional picks allowed it. But now, fuck it, I went off on these god damn idiots. I told them EXACTLY what I was thinking of them at that moment in time, because FUCK them for thinking it was ok to rail on me after ignoring me after trolling the game in select in the first fucking place. The rest of the game proceeds as you would imagine. They all continue to feed, refuse to ward, rage all game and are a general nuisance. At the end of the game the opposing team managed 40 some odd kills in a less than 25 minute game, only 5 of which were on me, and those mostly as I tried to salvage objectives and keep them out of our base having to fight 1v3 and 1v4 and 1v5 since my teammates are on constant death timers (the four of them literally spent more time dead than on the Rift) and I just want a shot at making the game work. It wont work though and at 20 minutes I announce (the first time I typed anything after finally just muting the entire team) that I'm done, might as well surrender, I refuse to play any more with them. Vote fails 1/4. So now im being intentionally trolled for an EVEN LONGER duration than I should have to be...

Well i just sat in fountain and let the enemy in and 3 minutes later its over. And this was game 1 of a promo series. Is this right? Is this fair? Is this the kind of play you promote riot? Cuz this seems to happen EVERY game of a promo series, and most games in general. Is this what it is to play league? Is one's ranking even a viable statistic given these kinds of circumstances? Because I'll be honoest, almost 100% of my losses are like this, trolled in champ select, raged at in game, trolled in game, and forced to suffer while my mmr also suffers.

What do you all think? Is this ok? Is it acceptable? Who's actions are wrong? Who's are right? Cuz in my opinion no one was right. And while i may be wrong for giving up on that team, who the FUCK is the saint who wouldn't? I want to meet them...

TLDR: Trolls op as fuck.

Edit: Forgot to mention, I got 4x reported by my team for this. Is that right? Is that fair? Is that just? The above account is 100% accurate in its details, including my own actions and mistakes. Is it right to be reported on for that game? Its obvious all four of them deserve reports and bans, but what about me?

Sadly, there isn't really much to discuss, it happens to the best of us, I can pity you because I too main the jungle or even the support role and have to sit and watch people make mistakes. Then I get blamed, I rage, I get toxic and bam. You get a two week ban from the new autobanner and there's really nothing more I can do. It was actually about two days before I got banned that I disabled all-chat and muted every single teammate I was with in all my games. I now have no communication with my team and League of Legends is now as interactive as Farmville for me. Then I got banned and poof, that is how I'll be playing league from now on (starting on the 13th anyway) welcome to the league of blame. #JungleEdition

Solo queue ranked is and always has been a complete fucking joke. Please stop suggesting that it should ever be anything different. You are literally spinning the Wheel 'O Shitty Teammates every time you solo queue anything, and complaining about the inevitable crapfest that results in doing so is completely retarded.

Why does solo queue ranked even still exist? God knows. God fucking knows.

Check my post here, having a similar discussion on the ethics in league right now.

The current consensus seems to be to punish everyone for everything, regardless of the situation or the cause, despite EVERYONE having to go through this at one point or another. Personally I'd agree with you. Screw those guys. They need you to win. And if they wanted to win, they shouldn't have raged on you, or anyone else on your team. Save it for the enemy. So by raging on you, they aren't cooperating as a team. And if they aren't cooperating, it means they don't want to win (in my eyes). So by going afk, you're giving them exactly what they were asking for.

It took me a longass time to get to Gold, and I did it mainly through support. These games happen a lot, I feel your frustration. There were games that after which, I literally put League down for a few days in order to come back to the next game with a calm, collected mind.

If you want my opinion, I'd say jungle and adc are the hardest roles to climb solo-que with. It's your fav, that's great, but there are so many factors playing against you: Is my team competent? Is their team INcompetent? Are there any duos? Are they the good ones or the terribad ones?

You seemed to understand what to do, you communicated with your team about your early gameplan and they just ended up botching it completely. I want to honestly say that you lost that in champ select due to your bot lane picks. GP / Raka isn't threatening to anyone imo..and after reading it, Raka was the adc? And GP was the support? Christ, I hope it was the other way around.

You just gotta keep trying, man. Hold your nerve and don't scream at people until post-game, if at all. Flaming them in-game gives them evidence to report you with. Don't say anything, mute them if you have to, communicate with pings. And if the loss was a total blowout, don't stick around in post-game where you could get into a big argument with them. Just leave the lobby (after of course reporting them IF you truly believe they deserve it) and start up another game, or take a good break like I do. Your blood pressure will thank you.

In all honestly, even though dodging would have forfeited the promo game, it might've been the better option since you got yelled at and blamed by your teammates' refusal to work as a team. But of course you didn't know that; such is life in Solo-Que.

I see a rolling clusterfuck here, sure. You were probably screwed from five minutes in.

BUT. I also think that you deserved to be reported.

YOUR VERY NEXT MATCH. 0/7. You sold your kit for consumables. Troll train to Worlds OP jungle main.

Overall your trending Ranked KDA and objective control per match show that you need more practice. Right now you are often being carried if your team can even win at all.

And by the gods if you want to duel in lane, BREAK a weakened 3 man group or dive a tower alone... ....Evelynn is not the preferred jungle main for that much utility. She is awesome but you need placement.

The way solo ranked forces you to stay in games or be severely penalized (i.e., can't dodge because Promo, in game and can't leave because of penalty and lost LP, can't end a game that stars with AFK's, etc.,) is exceedingly toxic.

Riot Lyte of course might chime in with some bullshit about how you're part of the problem for reacting to it.

Guess what, people may not act like they do in game in real life, but I guarantee if people trolled like this in real life they'd get called an asshole for it in real life too, even get raged at.

I should also point out that Riot Lyte's approach of "just ignore them and everything will be ok" is perhaps the most ridiculously stupid approach to the problem. He also seems to believe in naming and shaming while only showing one sided conversations and no context just to ensure the forum trolls parade in behind him.

I have invested a lot of time and money into this game. I am however considering moving to a game where you can be competitive at any level while not having to waste 30 mins of your life each game when it's obvious from the very start someone is trolling/afk'ing/being ignorant.

people blame jungle if they suck. its a sadly common scape goat for anyone with half a brain. its you feel you really need justice about it take it up with an actual riot employee, sadly on the boards youll prob be trolled more or itll be unnoticed

For those who truly don't get it, who don't understand the purpose of this post, or the reasoning behind bringing this example up let me lay it out for you.

In a game where I got trolled intentionally, abused verbally, berated and demeaned, belittled and blamed, a game that was lost due to the negative behavior and attitudes of each player EXCEPT for myself (my negative behavior had no effect on the outcome of the game, it was already a lost cause in champ select and certainly over by the 10 minute mark when I decided to let those idiots have a piece of my mind), I was reported by every member of our team, and likely by members of the opposing team who were convinced by the idiots to join the hive mind thinking.

After having been forced to suffer thusly with these players, after being antagonized and abused without having done anything of the sort to them to deserve it, the fact that I was reported by the whole team, and probably band wagon enemy team players means that this game will come up as a case for possible punishment. Just from this one game, due to the amount of reports recieved.

Now when tribunal was around I wouldn't have been bothered much, I regularly judged cases and if this one came up for me to judge it'd be an easy pardon. Guy gets attacked by all 4 members of his team in a trolled game and remains a positive contributing member despite it until hitting a breaking point and defending himself? Easy pardon. I never subscribed to the policy that both parties in a fight are equally culpable. That's just ridiculous, the party picking the fight intentionally is to blame, the person defending himself has acted as any human naturally would in such a situation.

But tribunal is gone, that system was broken any ways, abused by the very troll it was intended to punish and now we have something equally ineffective at handling these kinds of situations. Riot crew clearly does not concern themselves with context, despite the value of context in such a situation. Right and wrong in a moral society is determined solely by context, but this factor is ignored completely by riots punishment crew.

All of which boils down to this: the fact that I'm aware that I'm going to receive a ban for that single game (a chat restriction at the very least, but likely a ban, because I went ham on those fools after I had had as much as I could take) in turn caused a series of events that negatively impacted dozens of other players as well. The simple knowledge that I knew I would receive an unfair and unjust punishment makes any subsequent games and my behavior in them inconsequential. It's only a matter of time until that game would be reviewed and the sentence handed down. Because of this, what reason could I possibly have to be incentivized to act decently toward any one in any game there after? Because those players likely ony received a report from me means their behavior will go unchecked, they will do this in game after game spreading the issue around further, and an innocent party in the end will be made to suffer further for their crimes.

The system encourages this, promotes it, allows it because it's the way the system was designed, context has no bearing when it should be all important. Because of this, because the trolls had won as soon as the game ended and reports were filed, I was left to deal with the consequences of the actions of other players. I will be punished for their behavior, while they will get off Scott free. This doesn't sit right with me, and it shouldn't with any player. But the truth is I have no possibility of recourse, none.

If the system is going to promote this, what point do I have now, in the limited time frame left, to continue to act in a decent and respectful fashion? There is none, and if they can act this way with impunity and get away with it, then I might as well act just like them. And so, I did. You made your own mess riot. Do you get it now? Can you see?

SecondChanceHero11/4/2014, 6:54:32 AM1 votes

So idiots in game after that. Everyone is late out of fountain but me. like 1 minute late. Naturally enemy snuck in to our jungle, laid in wait, ko'd me when i went to my red brush. The only other champ even out of the fountain was braum. I spam ping enemy red. Everyone goes to lanes... I get no leash, and am immediately hit after the death with "gg, idiot eve". Naturally, having had the experience i JUST had guess what happens? I trolled the FUCK out of those people.

THIS is what your system promotes Riot. THIS. Precisely this. It CAUSES 100% more toxicity than anything else. Period.

Edit: Like seriously, what is with games in silver man. Do these people even understand ANYTHING about this game? Or is it just CoD to them? Kill things and win... Thats not how it fuckin works.

SecondChanceHero11/4/2014, 11:00:22 AM1 votes

Finally got a win...

Had to resort to playing ryze to get it.

I feel dirty, but i was vs a tryn.

In any case, the whole point is that VERY first game out of these 5 or 6 I played tonight put me on tilt and made me a complete douche bag for the rest of the games. ALL because of some BS in that game. I wasn't joking about the perma attempt, I just went off on 30 people for being jerks, some who didnt even deserve it. And why? Because of the BS you allow in your games Riot, specifically competitive play. And the terrible way you have of enforcing your rules. It needs to change, you create all the toxicity within the system by operating a system that CATERS to it. Period.
