Regarding Tier Dropping

Is it possible to drop tiers this season (e.g. from gold to silver, or silver to bronze, etc.)?

If so, how many losses does it take?

Yes, it is possible to drop from all tiers. Usually you have to fall below the mid range MMR, so if you are like Gold 5 you need to fall to a Silver III MMR or something like that before you drop. It can take quite a few matches. I went like 9 defeats in a row last season and didn't drop below gold 5 but it does take quite a few.
