Wouldnt it be nice if the Justice system in League wasnt Blind?

What i mean is, say your playing a match and your not doing the best. Than one of your teammates starts being a toxic pos. Than you play a little worse for it, and more of your team join in.

So you do the only thing you can try to do to feel a little better while trying to still have your head in the game and continue to play smartly. (whether or not you were beforehand) You reach out to the enemy team, and throw out a simple "wow my whole team is so toxic, this sucks" and the response is the enemy team joining your team in being toxic towards you.

Now you have 9 people calling you out, might not seem like you saying such rude or really TOXIC things, but trust me when 9 people are saying you suck at league when you have over 1000 wins lol.....it really sucks a lot. You can feel the morale actually leaving your body and mind. You try to get out and surrender to help end this terrible time. But your team just calls you out for it and they all say no.....

Now for the next step. The match finally ends, and you get your glorious chance to report those toxic players. They ruined the last hour of your life, they made you want to quit playing league altogether. You do report them, you even reported all nine of the players who just joined together to help make you feel like a piece of crap.

That's it though, do you feel better? You reported them so its taken care of right? But you never know, there are no reports on your reports......You cant actually see any justice happening in league although riot swears it happens......I used to be a toxic player when i started years ago....I was rude, condescending.... Lets face it i was a real A hole to a lot of players, And you know what. I know people reported me many many times. I never got punished. Never. So how are we supposed to know that people are really paying to being so toxic....

The Blind justice system of league is failing its players.....With the system that is in place, it just makes the people feel as though there is no justice. The toxicity of league of legends is so widely known, its a common fact that the community in league of legends is the Worst of any game. I don't honestly think there is a way to fix that considering what this game en tales. But if players got an update on their report, if they could actually see the Justice system working.......Imagine the possibilities.

Am I OP? The fact is i don't have any friends on these Forums....So im not on here to share funny or exciting league of legends stuff. We just talk about that kinda stuff in our voice chat......

But when I get frustrated and need a place I can vent about League where others who will understand, and my buddies are tired of hearing it, I turn to the League forums... I guess I shouldn't have picked the League of Legends forums to do so? Should i complain on reddit like the rest of the cool kids? why does everyone always ask me why I'm posting league stuff on league forums??

The tribunal solved nothing. It was Just as blind as what we have now. The tribunal still never actually helped the people making the reports, and lets remember they are the ones who really need that help. Not some bored kid who wants to feel some power to ban other players.....

Also where else should we have this discussion? This is the league boards right or is this for Counter Strike lol....and also, im sorry i haven't read every post and i happened to have a thought along the same lines of someone else....didn't mean to waste your time....I can feel the community right now lemme tell ya lol.

I did make a suggestion that is Constructive, I was not purely criticizing riot. This thing is just all over the place lol. Why is everybody always so negative towards others in these forums.....

I feel you, I really do. I still think you are totally wrong. I could write PAGES in response to your OP but I kind of dont think this is the place for that conversation.

What I will say is I suggest you contemplate the concept of "justice." What is it? What are some good examples of it? Is it a human invention like "perfection?" If it is then like perfection is justice impossible to achieve? If it is impossible to achieve then would pursuing it be folly?

The world was never flat. What if the concept of justice is like the idea that the earth is flat? No matter how hard you try to improve on it it will never work.

If you could give me some examples of justice it would help me understand how you see justice.

I enjoy these types of discussions so dont think im trying to insult you or troll.

I never suggested we bring back the tribunal....I was suggesting it worked any better than what we have now. I'm suggesting that riot find a way to do follow ups of some kind to players reports. That way when riot does punish someone for being a total troll and ruining the game for our fine players. They get to know that the report was at least dealt with.

Im not saying riot has to tell the players when someone has been banned necessarily, even I can see that trolls would switch to trying to report others and getting them banned....

But at least say if I filed a report and then riot sent me a message later on saying "hey we checked out and dealt with your report, thanks for your time"....yada yada yada....Than at least when "justice" or a punishment were to take place I as the player would know that i filed the report for a reason. At least the "justice" was seen in the light to other players and not just the single troll who was dealt with....

Im just saying that even with the report system in place, after reporting the troll does it make you feel like you've really tried to do anything about our shitty community? Wouldn't you feel better if you knew FOR SURE riot actually looked into that incident?

Personally, after I report someone for making me feel like the worlds biggest piece of shit, I get an empty feeling that still leaves me to wanna uninstall this game, and that needs to change.

Also im sorry, i just realized i kind of avoided your question again. well kind of.

You're asking for "vengeance" and/or "ridicule", not "justice".

Yes, transparency can be good, because it makes people more confident that the system is working. But it also has downsides. If punished players got publicly shamed, they would be "blacklisted" and people might not treat them well in the future even if they really reformed. This is a big problem in the RL justice system -- people who committed a felony often have a hard time getting jobs, places to live, etc., even if it was something they did a long time ago.

? So by riot sending a player a private little tag like say "report 17826481764" on random date and time is being looked into. Is Blacklisting a player? I don't know what you envisioned in your head, but in mine it was not so sinister.... Obviously they cant be throwing out usernames and making some sort of public witch hunt out of it

Also, I'm not sure why you would see this as vengeance. Would a raped woman seeing her rapist go to prison or be put to death only qualify as vengeance to you? I know that's an extreme but you have to admit, Vengeance and Justice will often go hand in hand.

A lot of people do ask to know exactly who was punished. You weren't really very clear.

Even very anonymous status on reports could let you deduce who had actually been punished in some cases. For instance, if they say "we punished a player that you reported last month", and you only reported two or three people last month, then you pretty much know who got punished. That's why they don't do that.

Punitive punishments merely for the sake of making the aggrieved person feel better are not what I'd call "justice", no. Now - in your example maybe you can argue that punishing the criminal serves other purposes, like deterring other people from committing crimes in the future. But you shouldn't punish someone more just because it makes someone else feel better.

I hear what your saying , but it seems you would rather punish no one rather than the person who was being a ******. I do like this discussion a lot, also I realize this post is realistically going to have zero effect on anything.

Another thing, can you name someone you've reported recently? I don't store the names of people who did something bad enough to warrant me reporting it...I don't really feel like people are writing down the names of these users....I guess they could block them and keep it that way.

Philosophers have debated this sort of thing for thousands of years, so it's not exactly a recent development. Deterrence (for both the guilty party in the future and for others) can be a good reason to punish someone. Protection of the public if someone is a danger to themselves or others, sure. But punishing a perpetrator solely to make the victim feel better is a very thorny situation. Now the punishment doesn't depend on the damage that was done to the victim and/or society, but how vindictive that person feels. It's extremely subjective.

Even with the current system I've seen people claim to stalk players they've reported. Usually in the context of posting "I reported this obvious [feeder/AFKer/jerk] and they haven't been banned. Riot sucks!" Some people would record those things just so they could try to publicly shame those players.

Imo the battle is about taking their bait and getting upset in the 1st place. Imo once that happens there is nothing that can "even" things out. It happened and it will never unhappen. Im not saying its your fault for getting mad. I have had more than my share of blow up moments. What I am saying is that once they upset you, they won. You can seek retribution or justice but at least acknowledge that its ALL after the fact and the fact cannot be changed.

My advice: Continue fighting the good fight but understand what you are fighting and why. Know that people will flame you WHEN THEY FUCK UP. Come to understand that their opinion should matter to you exactly as much as yours matters to them. When someone tells you that you are terrible its obvious they don't care about you or your side and that BY DEFAULT means that you shouldnt care what they have to say.

Again what i take from what you said is that instead of trying to do anything about these trolls etc......you would rather everyone just ignore them and hope they go away?

I have actually started Muting every player, my team and the enemy alike in ranked play. Of course I let my team know they will have to use pings to get my attention(which I don't see why people try typing to me when were in a battle anyway.....) That way I don't even have to deal with any of it......Its actually pretty peaceful.

Yes omfg yes! If everyone ignored trolls they would indeed go away.

I actually think you have found the best solution for you. You don't seem to be able to follow my posts(or even answer their simple questions) so instead of giving you a headache better to just go with simple, easy and effective. Mute everyone and no more problem.
