Sure, it's "toxic" according to the summoner's code. Sure it could hurt someone's feelings. However, this shit happens based on the person reacting. Right now, I'm up there with people who spam racist, homophobic, and sexist rhetoric, only because I grew up in a gaming culture where shit talking was common. I can't even say "get rekt" without someone responding "reported". This carebear community is the reason I don't even want to finish my 5 placement games. No other game polices language like this. On top of that, there's no VOIP for the sole reason of "we can't regulate what people say". That's fucking stupid.

You don't understand. That's like justifying the lynching of an escaped slave and say "it's against the law to escape, you said so yourself". I'm saying the norms on what constitute toxic are oppressive in nature and limit liberties found in most popular games that have an esport following.

Here you willfully admitted that what you did is against the summoner's code. You read and agreed to follow the summoner's code, according to the check box you marked when creating your account.

Likewise, by buying a car we assume you know and agree to the rules of the road - you break them, you're punished. It's that simple, there's no argument to be made.

Do you think the interpretation of the summoner's code is the same as it was back then? Back then you could cuss out people who were bad and you'd need to be a grackis or someone more toxic to get punished. Now they just punish a good amount of players who just want to have fun and have some shit talking. This care bear environment makes me sick, and treats people who swear the same as racists, homophobes, and sexists who actually deserve this type of treatment.

Kid, if your childhood was halo and CoD, then that wasn't a gaming culture. That was middle school mainstream bullshit. And that's the thing: You muted them. They weren't disallowed from using their mics afterwords. Clearly you've never played counter-strike, quake, or any other competitive game where shit talking was common. This is the only community that gives a shit what its players say and actively moderates shit talking. Fighting communities ENCOURAGE shit talking (watch?v=iB1uQmvmh_k), FPS games too, Dota has its fair share of shit talking, League used to have it.

It's really obvious from these two sentences alone, that you're probably really toxic. Instead of having the game conform to you - you should really conform to the game.

Like this: Someone is dying a lot, here are your options:

A: KID STOP FEEDING B: You're feeding, stop it. Reported. OR C: Hey, Player X, can you please play a little safer :).

Just go with option C - it makes your team less stressed and less tense and less salty and keeps the game (because, hey it is a game), fun.

As a jg main, i end up usually going HAM against a team with duo top.

If i carry and continuously gank my lanes, then at the end game screen say "that's why you don't duo top", i get reported.

I really don't understand your thinking. The people you describe in the olden days of Cs and Quake, well, I found it a rarity to come across "toxic" people.

I don't know, maybe I am old and my senility is catching up to me, but 99% of the games had cool, fun, decent people who had actual social skills and were willing to communicate on a level of human decency that your kind seems to lack. No care bears involved either.

I understand what he saying, but I do also need to say there is a difference between offensive toxic comments, and playful bragging. Saying "get shit on kid" obviously falls under the toxic comment. But when people say "get rekt" or "rekt" or "owned" I would consider playful, competative bragging, which isn't reportable. It can be annoying when people get over sensitive but the things you described in the OP would be considered toxic. Hell, I've had people say they reported me because I spammed taunts after i killed them, and that's what pisses me off.
