What is wrong with matchmaking?

Im not saying im an amazing player, im only in silver, but at the same time i shouldnt be matched with people who literally are in their 10th game. this actually happened to me. I play aram mostly (my friend doesnt like normals for some reason) and in 90% of the games i have the highest damage in the game (even if we loose). im not kidding either, i check the graph at the end of the game. I dont want to crush every single game, i just want to have two evenly matched teams. the close games that last 40 minutes are the most fun.
