so i got through my provisionals a while back and placed in Silver III but i'm not sure how it works to climb higher
i know you need to win and get LP and such but how much LP do you need to get into your best of 3 matches and after that what would i get placed in? would i get placed in Silver II or would i get placed elsewhere depending how i do or what?

So, you're silver 3. Great! You probably have 0 LP right now. Your hidden MMR probably matches your visible rank, so your win/loss LP should be about even. Since you have fewer than 100 ranked games, you'll be bouncing around in intervals of 20. As soon as you get 100 LP, you're in your series. Win that, and you'll be in silver 2.
When you get to silver 1, you'll be locked down to win/loss amounts of 5-10. Get to 100 LP, then series for gold 5.
