Lp win and loss

Can someone explain why some people gain 26-36 lp per game and loose only 15 lp ( Me for exemple ) while some other people gain about 20 and loose about the same amont of lp for a loss? How does the system calculate your LP gain/loss ? And, it is normal that I was silver 4 then I won my promotion and I was put directly in Silver 2?

Another question. I'm silver. People told me i'm suppose to play against the same rank than me however, I find out that most of my opponant are Silver/gold in season 6 but in Season 5 or even Season 4, they are Gold/plat. It that normal ? Fair ??

Short version is for the first 50 games you get an MMR boost when you win and since you said you only did your promos last season that's likely what is going on. Also if you're getting that much MMR than when you go on a win streak you might skip promo's
