Some small visual details that could use improvement on the new patcher.
This is a list of visual improvements I think the patcher could use.
-
Alerts/messages box. There are two classifications of fonts, serif and sans-serif. Every other font in the patcher is sans-serif. For visual consistency the title of the alert should be so as well. There's also, IMO no reason for the expandable message because if someone clicks the alert icon they want to know what's up without an additional click.
-
Inconsistent margins and borders. This is fairly self explanatory. Pixel perfection is always nice to have.
-
Region box. There are several changes I would make here. The close button isn't positioned correctly, and there should be margins between the headings and the combo boxes. The buttons also looked off. Here is my improved version.
-
Options Box First thing is that the "Allow Peer to Peer Transfer" checkbox does not change on hover. This makes it unclear whether or not it is interactive. The serif text is out of place again as well. Additionally there is a lot of unused space at the bottom of the box that could be better used with margins between the two subregions. Finally this box looks completely different from the region one. Be consistent.
-
Logo hovering. Generally highlighting behavior is restricted to things that a user can interact with. There's no reason for the League of Legends logo to respond to user interaction when clicking it accomplishes nothing.
-
Window icons. The icons on the top right of the window are absurdly difficult to click accurately as they are right next to each other. I would suggest making them larger or increasing space between them.
That's all I've got. It's definitely a great improvement! Keep up the good work Riot.
