Tbh, Chroma Pack should cost IP

Seriously, making us pay for recolor is kinda too much. People on the forum and reddit dit it in 30 min with no knowledge of photoshop.

Chroma for basic skin should be a reward from the champion mastery program, and chroma for skin should cost 2000IP or 200RP for one. Anyway, we already paid RP for the skin.

590 RP for 3 is scam for me.

Skins such as Phantom Karthus are legacy because they are basic recolors. And considering its 590 for 3 Chroms or the 390 that Phantom Karthus would cost (although I bought for half the price during the Sugar Rush sale, so like 195), I would go for a legacy skin. They at least have something cool about them, and are limited edition now. Whereas chromas will be poor man's skins. Honestly I think they should be for champion mastery. Like "man, this guy is so good at Lucian that he has that chroma" not, "wow, this guy bought Red Lucian!"

Or they could do it so that when you hit maximum mastery with a champ, you get the Chroma skin for that champ.

Azteryz4/8/2015, 9:53:03 PM11 votes

They aren't MAKING you buy it dude its just if you want your champ to look different

same thing with normal skins you don't have to buy them if you don't want to, stop harping on this game (which btw is free to play in case you forgot) and riot did say they are considering making it a mastery reward but they have to see what people think of them first

I feel like you should have to earn chroma packs not buy them. Maybe there could be some chroma packs to buy but maybe they could make like a chroma pack for each champ that you have to earn. I want something to show that im really good at this champion without them having to look up my stats. I really don't care if my Lucian/champion is green or red.

OreoRampage4/8/2015, 10:18:48 PM4 votes

Let them actually release it before suggesting changes. This is still in testing. They did suggest it as a type of reward in conjunction with the mastery system.

Potato Doc4/8/2015, 8:52:07 PM4 votes

Heres an alternative, how about they have a base chroma pack based on RP, on the other end they have another chroma pack (idk if it should be same or different colors), that you have to earn a certain rank in the champion mastery system which then unlocks the ability to buy it with IP? We get the best of both worlds?

Earl Eulrich4/8/2015, 11:24:45 PM3 votes

They have to earn money someway and nobody needs those recolours direly anyway - so I´d say it´s absolutly fair for them to earn a little easy money here so they can keep putting most of their efforts into making the game better instead of spending all their time trying to aquire money.

QueenAqua4/9/2015, 3:30:39 AM3 votes

Soooo many people have been saying this in sooo many threads. A lot are even suggesting they be linked to champion mastery.

BatteryDead4/9/2015, 2:00:30 PM3 votes

Heroes of the Storm offers a free skin for each champ once you hit a certain mastery level with that champ, and recolors I think. Riot should follow that.

Immortal Strife4/8/2015, 10:50:38 PM3 votes

My beef with Chromes being rewards through the mastery system is the likelihood of champion with Chromes being 100% pick/ban.

http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/dzOjoPEz-regarding-chroma-packs Just for people to have a look at what a PBE player said and displayed about chromas. After reading this I honestly thought the packs should be thrown in with the champion mastery system as many others have said or just make it something we can blow IP on. The fact that RIOT said it was "difficult" to create these things is what really pisses me off about the whole deal.

Riot did say that they were looking into things about costs. In the FAQ, they asked what the community thought of the price, and that they were most likely adding ways to unlock skins (IP or champion mastery). Just give it time

Champion Skin4/8/2015, 9:58:10 PM2 votes

If it would be buy able with IP it would likely cost between 10 000 and 30 000 or something and be used as an IP sink for those who have all the stuff and all the IP they could ever need

PandahHeart4/9/2015, 1:59:53 AM2 votes

It's cool to see different colors but I would rather buy a skin than a chroma. I honestly don't think I will spend any money for Chromas, even if they change the color of a skin. It's just not my cup of tea. :3

Considering people actually voted in the survey last year about the recolors costing RP, that's kind of why it happened.

The ability to recolor/customize a champions look has been one of the things I wanted most in this game. That being said, I'm sadly probably never going to purchase any chromas. 590 RP is more expensive than a full skin on sale. (most of them)

I'd be overjoyed if you unlocked a chroma of your choice for free with champion mastery, but at the same time I realize that chromas ARE very difficult to make for certain champs. It's the same reason we haven't seen a zac skin. Some champions animations are tied directly to their look, and don't have elements as simple as recoloring a cape, in lucians case. What would a gnar chroma look like? His whole body (in two forms) would have to be altered - and you certainly wouldn't want just a tinted body color. You'd want them to add some kind of design - and that's not easy.

Coccyx4204/9/2015, 7:09:54 PM2 votes

How can people forget to mention that Blizzard and Smite give out recolors for IP. Not actual cash but POINTS MADE IN GAME.

Snes C4/10/2015, 12:35:23 AM1 votes

TBH, they should be free. TBH, all skins should be free. TBH, all champions should be free.

TBH, asking for something to be made cheaper is an easy way to make it look like everyone agrees with you and that something should be done, even when that isn't the case. If they don't sell enough to justify the cost, they'll reduce the price or abandon the project.

i dont know how to respond to chrome packs... but i am going to try ... i payed more for snow leopard nidalee (before the VU) there is a market for this kinda stuff you dont have to buy it... OCD needs to stop and you need to say your sorry to your wallet i also own the green mundo skin.. i bought it because i thought it looked bad. i really can only call this a new angle rather than being lazy it makes me feel like these are left over legendary skins ... (you know how sona changed form... did they try it on other champs and just say.. not really what we want... sell it for 590 and call it a day) people are already recoloring their skins anyway. why not get paid to.

however you feel about it. it is happening... maybe you can slow down the wave with negativity ... or kill it with kindness. like saying "well atleast you tried Rito. And thats all that matters"

Uiru4/10/2015, 7:23:04 AM1 votes

It has been proven that chromas take basically no effort to make.

The difference between 200 RP for one and 590 RP for three is that the second option assumes that you like all three colors and plan to rotate between them all. This is not a fair assumption. The concept of "packs" should probably be thrown out entirely, and if RP remains as a purchase option, it should be alongside IP (but preferably as mastery rewards). ~Uiru

Mephistophilis4/10/2015, 3:10:24 PM1 votes

2000-3000 IP seems fine to me. Or 250 Rp for the whole pack. 590 is overpriced.

IDontCareAnymore4/10/2015, 7:13:43 PM1 votes

I think they should do the chroma packs with the new mastery thing coming out, or just even one skin re color to show thats your champion and you worked hard to get that skin re color

Left Hook Larry4/11/2015, 4:50:44 AM1 votes

Agree 100%, but we all know Riot would rather make money with this instead of going with the community
