Honestly it is just so frustrating getting these chat restrictions when I get trolls who say "mid or feed" or "duo mid" this is honestly very annoying. Riot doesn't do anything about trolls but only the people who retaliate which I think is somewhat wrong.
If by "retaliate", you mean "respond with insults or trolling", you're doing it wrong. Two wrongs do not make a right. "He started it" wasn't an acceptable excuse in 1st grade, and it still isn't.

I recommend you get a league keyboard that only has q-w-e-r-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-a-s-d-f-(alt)-(ctrl).
Joking aside, why would you ever be toxic, even in those situations? Yeah, it's annoying, but I've been in teams with duo mid or duo adc's and won. It's certainly not worth going on and on in all chat about.
Control yourself, you'll get out of the chat restriction faster and enjoy the game more.

The reason why Riot doesnt do anything about "trolls" is because people dont report them! If anything they report people like you because they are the ones who spam chat usually using racist/homophobic/rude words and making the game unbearable! Also usually when you win with a "troll" you forget about it because you won, when you lose i see people who just quit right away, or dont do anything in the end game chat instead they just talk more smack and leave when everyone else is gone! if you really want to see people like this gone report them if they are breaking the rules, dont just leave thinking their next game people will report them because more often than not people wont!
Riot punishes BOTH the people who troll AND the people who retaliate. Retaliating doesn't help make the issue better, it just escalates it which means you are also in the wrong.
Watching NFL as a kid instilled one thing that is VERY helpful in this situation: The guy who throws the second punch is the one who gets ejected from the game 90% of the time.
