I just played a match with internet tethering!

I live in Europe playing on the NA server and usually suffer with a ping of around 120 plus living at home in the middle of nowhere doesn't help much with regular wifi dropouts. However, using my phone on a 3G/4G connection I can play a game with around 60 ping which is a HUGE improvement. This doesn't make any sense! Plus the data usage is no more than around 4mb too and since with my plan I currently have unlimited data allowance both for mobile usage and tethering I'm considering switching permanently.

This is ridiculous, does anyone else use connection from the their phones over wifi because I'm still in awe that my little phone can do such a thing.

It's all in the routing. Your data is taking a different path to the servers when you are using a different ISP. There may be issues along the route of your home internet that simply isn't present on your 4G. Could even be at your router.
