To those of you who, throughout this week, have demanded for a non-esports tab in client.
Among the immature and ignorant posts I've read on these Boards, you guys are by far the worst. The balls it must have taken to hit Post Discussion. God damn.
First off, let's get one thing straight: #Riot is not your bitch.
You are not above them. You can't tell them what to do. You're playing their FREE GAME that you have access to around the clock. You play their game? They're your superior, in their game.
Not only are you demanding something from them, but you're asking them to shut out all the news about their one and only, multi million dollar tournament, Worlds. When the frickin' Super Bowl comes around, do you complain about the commercials? No, probably not. So what's the difference here? Sure it's a game, but you can just, at worst, ignore the notification that says TSM is about to lose to LGD?
"Aw, damnit man, I have to see this! THIS NOTIFICATION THAT A BROADCAST IS COMING ON? DISTRACTING ME FROM MY QUEUE? ARGRHGRHGRGHRGH!!!"
It is really just immature, Ok. It sounds silly too, and you're not impressing anyone.
Not only is it grossly rude and bratty to be asking for such a petty favor from Riot, but do you even realize WHY they have these little advertisements?
Besides the - Non-Required - in-game purchases, Riot isn't making any money from anything but their fan base and their public events! Not to say that selling game content isn't making money, but putting on these tournaments is a big deal for them, and it is really not fair to them to ask they shut it out.
On the of that, suppose Riot didn't host these events AT ALL. They might not be making enough money to keep the game free.. there might be a subscription fee added, or a one time purchase price.. But in the end, these Esports, though you may think little of, are nothing but helping you. Helping Riot.
So with that, I'd just like to let you guys know that, although I'm certain these posts will come up again next year, No one cares that you don't care about League Of Legends events, no one cares that you want a personalized tab for non-esports-viewers, no one cares that you don't care.
But Riot cares, and what they're doing is only for the benefit of the players. Thanks.
