Does anyone else here feel like you get so little for your money when buying RP?

What do you mean little? Like not being able to buy more than a few things little, or just the amount of RP given being small?

I've only spent a couple of dollars on RP in the past, but I could easily get more than a few items in, due to champion sales and whatnot.

Fuck yeah i do. Champs are particularly overpriced. Not to mention that RP costs more in OCE. My dream solution is that the cheap skins can be paid with RP or IP and the more expensive ones get a slight reduction. Or better yet make it so that the skins cost money instead of RP. I really hate the whole You need 1350 RP so you can either buy 1100 or 2250. Never gonna happen though.

I mean, this is something that happens in all item mall games. You will always be capable of paying 10x more money in item malls over subscriptions.

Just be happy league isn't particularly pay to win....
