When is it a good time to go to other lanes?

Say your playing adc and your first turret gets taken down, do you stay in lane untill you get thiers and maybe more or do you go help other lanes? And should your support have to stay with you where ever you go?

So what i do when I play adc and I get the first tower, is to check bot lane constantly, and if it's pushed up above the halfway point, then go mid/top/jg, you know, but when bot side is pushed up, you go farm bot side.
