6.4 Patch Halt at 33% Calculating Differences (Possible Fix)

I'm on NA trying to get onto the servers and I'm encountering some issues. So I've been messing with this thing for a couple of hours now because no matter what I tried, whenever I opened the client it would begin a patch at 33% and spend oodles of time scanning files, never budging from 33%. I knew something was wrong when it reached over 7000 files scanned so I started searching for a way to treat the problem. I tried a lot of things and found a solution that I think has worked for me (Seeing as I am now at 61%).

This is a solution that has been posted before over a year ago but for anyone having this issue with me, this is what I've found:

I needed to force a re-patch. First access your game's storage files, and if you have LOL stored in the defalt location, the path is here:

  • OS_install > Riot Games > League of Legends > RADS > projects > lol_game_client

  • Once in the lol_game_client folder, delete the entire filearchives folder.

  • Restart league of legends, but RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

I had to repeat the process several times because I re-opened the patcher as normal and it continued with the same problem.

Once restarted as administrator it may begin the patch at 0% or it may begin the patch at 33%, or whatever percentage it was stuck on (mine did). The funny thing about the whole issue is that I'd already downloaded 6.4 prior to the error. I'll be posting here with any more findings, I hope this helps anyone having the same problem that I am.

Happy Gaming.

usually when its at 33% it found something "wrong" in the files and checks all the files extra. this is annoying but USUALLY for me this fixes itself after 20-30min.
