A lot of people say "Best Friend", but that doesn't make much sense.

I personally think it is a reference to the "BFG" from Doom, which means "Bio-fragmentation Grenade", but its nickname is "Big Fucking Gun", so "BF Sword" would be "Big Fucking Sword"; which it is. That makes the most sense to me.

As I understand it from a ranked game last night it means "Best Friend Sword"

And it is a nice sword to have.
