Girl question...

So I'm a senior I'm high school and not that popular and very shy but most people are cool with me, I honestly don't think I'm bad looking but who knows anyway I wanted to ask this girl that I have had classes with for 4 years but never talked to go to the upcoming prom with me so I did I was kind of embarrassed to ask I'm person in the 1 class we have so I dmed her on group me asking her "who are you going to prom with?" and she replied with a couple hours later "Me." I don't know what to say next I like never talk to girls and have never gone out with any or had any romantic relationship I'm 17.. I've never talked to the girl but think she's super nice and she's really smart I've figured from the classes I've had with her I just don't know what to say next...help?

It's nerve-wracking, and could even be viewed as a little embarrassing to express it, but ask her. Bluntly ask. Do not hint at it. Do not joke about it. Look her in the eye with a straight face and ask "Would you go to prom with me?" If she says yes, it's OKAY to act somewhat giddy. Just don't freak out and kiss her the second after.

Also, don't ask and just walk away. If she say's yes (And honestly, she probably will if she doesn't already have a date), talk to her a bit. Perfect reason to get her phone number.

Another note that really shouldn't need to be said, but today's society somehow doesn't realize it - Texting sucks. Don't do it all the time. Dialing her phone number for a real phone call goes a lot further than you may realize.

On the chance that she does say no (There's a chance, let's face it.), just brush it off the best you can. No one likes to be shot down, but feel free to ask someone else.

At prom - BE A GENTLEMAN! You wanted her here with you, show it. I cannot begin to describe how much women appreciate gentlemanly qualities. At least the ones I've dated.

Just a few things I wish I had realized a lot sooner than I did.

just ask her.. just say "hey if you're not going to prom with anyone else would you want to go with me" seriously we appriciate you being straightforward more than anything because 90% of the time when a guy likes you they just get really fucking weird and expect you to take a hint and it's awful. just ask her.

tell her that you want to take the most beautiful girl you know to prom. when she asks who tell her, it's you. then buy her roses and chocolate. can't go wrong with that. :)

Ask her if she plays league. You should try to get to know someone before u take them to a prom or schools dance. What if u end up having nothing in common and your personalities clash or she turns out to be a totally different person than u were expecting....u could end up having a horrible time...instead of taking a gamble why not just get to know her on a personal level first. It will make asking her out on a date or to a dance a hell of a lot easier and smoother . who knows u may change your mind altogether .

yeah. we appreciate honesty. we can never tell if a guy likes us. our friends can, parents can, but not us. we're oblivious and think we look like a potato. you just gotta tell her how you feel.
