Your saying that unfairly taking my LP somehow counteracts the other teams unfair and equally unmitigated LP gain? how is that?
Here's the fact of the matter.
I start a ranked game.
3 people don't load on my team.
I cant leave- Leaverbuster OP.
I cant AFK- Leaverbuster again, OP.
So here I am forced to endure 15-20 minutes of a game I have no chance of winning,
And then to add insult to wasted time I am also penalized LP for not winning the unwinnable game.
And to top it all off! the enemy team STILL gains LP, even though they didn't have to work for it.
Loss Prevention is not applied on a game-by-game basis, only if there are widespread server issues. When they do this they also disable Ranked for a while.
They cannot give "loss prevention" to individual "unfair" losses unless there is also corresponding "win prevention" for "unfair" wins. Otherwise you get massive inflation of LP and/or MMR and it screws up Ranked over time.
This doesn't even make sense. how is taking LP from one team that hasn't got a chance to fight and giving LP to a team that doesn't have to work for it stopping LP inflation? Whether or not they will, they certainly can do it.
I should not be penalized based on whether player X, Y, and Z's internet is working well today.
