Account bans for using chat.

I was just interrupted in the middle of my champion select screen with a message from Riot saying that my account has been banned for 14 days for being verbally abusive. Now, I agree that the system does punish such behavior and that the punishment was expected, but I feel like this is a problem that will NEVER be fixed this way. Competitive League of Legends is notorious for having one of the worst communities in comparison to just about any other game. People flame each other, troll around, feed, purposely AFK, assist the enemy team in ways that just go beyond whatever you'd expect in a ranked game, and all for the sheer sake of nothing. It's all absolutely pointless, and it does nothing but cause anger and frustration in the eyes of people who legitimately want to progress as a competitive player in this game. The amount of times I've been banned from the game for one very simple reason (being verbally abusive) has lead me to realize there actually really isn't any use for the chat system for people who do not want it. It's nothing more than a pathway for toxicity to breed. Some people just don't want the option there for them to occasionally say "Why the fk did you just do that?" I personally don't want to play the game anymore because the tribunal system is far too hypocritical in the way that players are judged. Someone can go wandering around aimlessly all game, having a final score of 0-2-5, but had literally done nothing but taunt the enemy and refuse to actually play the game. My response to such a player: Go f**k yourself. I know I'm not the only one who reacts this way and from my own experience in solo queue, about one in every 4 players actually does this. There have been a countless amount of bans aimed at these people who are pushed in to a corner where they're forced to play with someone who doesn't have the intention of winning, but simply ruining the experience for everyone else. What I'm getting at is this game is bound to lose a lot of it's fan base if it continues to ignore these very prevalent issues within the community. Toxicity in League of Legends will never go away, it's human nature to respond in such a way, whether you're saying it to yourself or directly to the person who's spoiling everyone else's fun.

My suggestion? Simple: Remove chat for those who don't want it. Give us the option; I know I would turn off chat in an instant because 90% of the time nothing important is every really said there. Pings are more than sufficient. I'm tired of my own toxicity and I'm tired of everyone else's as well. I'm tired of being banned for using a system Riot implemented with many cutbacks to make it safe in case someone doesn't want to hear what someone else has to say. I find it ridiculous that players can actually get a permanent ban for simply using chat whereas trolls can roam around freely undetected because the tribunal never looks beyond the chat log. Riot hasn't even made an effort at fixing this huge issue, so on that note, I won't be coming back until things have changed.
