Why does everyone call Veigar a no-skill champ and get flamed you main him?

i honestly don't understand why everyone hates Veigar, sure is Q is really strong late-game and he deletes people completely

if you don't wanna get deleted, build MR and build around his insane damage, Build a Zhonya's to avoid his 1 hit burst....

i don't get why everyone hates veigar so much....

honestly i might just have to switch the champ that i want to main, i like mage type champions, but people complain about the ones i like and call them no-skill, get gud, play something with a skill-cap

People will claim any champions that they don't play and which beats them is "no-skill". Just ignore them, since they aren't really worth the effort.

Veigar takes skill in a way its not hard to use him, but hard to reach late game god mode with. Since 90% of mid laners counter him pretty hard, You need to know how to constantly avoid poke and just stack that Q. And even the champions that don't outright kill Veigar 20 times in lane, Veigar still has a hard time since he has to choose between using his Q for trades or farming. He probably has the worst early game of all mid laners. Heck Karthus beats him early on, which is kinda sad.

Also the other main thing I see with most Veigar players is them trying to cheese a free kill at level 6 with their ult and failing. His ult doesn't actually do much at rank 1 early game. Its power comes from the infinite AP he has access to, and being able to one shot most mages late game.

Everytime I play against a Veigar it feels like they require no-skill....then I play veigar and cant even land my stun.

It's because Veigar's kit is relatively binary. Champions with binary kits are usually seen as being 'no skill'.

I honestly think that Veigar requires skill because if you want him to be strong, you have to farm up his q stacks while not dying to many of the mid laners who can assassinate you, (Zed, Yasuo, LeBlanc, etc) or champs that can poke you to oblivion, ( Ziggs, Syndra, etc)

Veigar obviously takes less skill than someone like yasuo, lulu, or lee, but it doesnt make them a bad champ nor does it make them an easy one.

I play veigar a lot (own all of his skins lol) and when someone talks trash i mute 'em and move along.
