Is this an example of Refusal to Communicate?

We swept the other team often and early. We got up to something close to 5x their team kills. It was like 20-4 at one point.

Our ADC trist was super fed, and I was expecting a quick game. The game didn't turn out so quick. What should have turned into pushing--->baron---->win turned into Tristana literally camping the top right corner near their last bot-lane turret. Despite the pleas of a few players and pings to back, she was enjoying her big lead and killing everyone who came to her.

She didn't back. She just wanted to fight.

Eventually the other team caught up on some farm. Then they started fighting back. Trist would rocket jump away a few times, then get killed. This happened three times. It stretched the game out an extra 20 minutes or so unnecessarily.

The whole time she didn't say anything. Didn't respond to inquiries, didn't proactively say anything. We'd ping her for baron, get chased off by the enemy team, Trist would just sit in top corner and wait for a challenger.

Eventually, we did win.

My girlfriend and I decided to just follow Trist wherever she went because she clearly wanted to control the action. Team fight happens, we sweep them. We win.

In the postgame chat, Trist has lots to say. "I carried you" "stop bitching about ward" "you bronzies don't know what you're doing" etc.

So, besides the toxicity after the game, it was clear as day to me that she should be reported for Refusing to Communicate. My girlfriend disagrees. She rank duo'd with me and thought Trist was just fine, and we had a rather heated and lengthy debate on the summoner's code and what it means to communicate with your team.

So I come to you guys - who's right here?

Thanks.

Jelly Mac, Theres a difference between your ADC and a Nasus not leaving lane. I don't ever ask a Nasus to leave lane if he is left alone to free farm, It would be a waste of stacks, but on the other hand if your adc refuses to leave their lane I see an issue with that. Prolly was some smurfing douche who just thought they knew everything, bet you anything that had you guys lost that game Trist would have tried to blame everyone but themselves for not grouping.

OP you were right to report - that easily could've been a throw if your ADC refused to communicate, and in this instance he was fed so he was able to dual other people, but what if he wasn't? In every game he won't be, and even though you won, that player exhibited bad behaviors in a team centric game that will lead other teams to lose.

Really great job of changing up your strategy and just following him around - you played smart, and earned your victory. In a game I had a bit ago we had an AP mid that was flaming, threatening to afk, and just being an all around doucher - we won soundly, but I still reported him in end game because even though we won, his behavior still wasn't in line with the code.

Hope this helps. I see GF's point though that he wasn't toxic, but refusal to communicate is pretty serious and in low elo that could easily be a throw.

I do the same thing when I am playing Nasus. I never roam (not my job to win other people's lanes, I won my lane not my fault they can't win theirs), never help out with objectives outside of toplane, and I never group with the team. I just farm/push top entire game and get INSANE stacks.

People keep saying "Report Nasus not teamfighting" they know damn well Nasus wasn't meant to group, he was meant to splitpush, yet they cry anyway. Nasus cares neither for allied champions nor enemy champions. The only things that interest him are minions, stacks, and turrets.

Report Tristana for toxic post-game chat, but leave her alone about not communicating. Not everyone wants to group with the team, it's their right to choose not to do so.

I can get 800 stacks in 35 minutes yet I get reported by people like you for "Not grouping", newsflash, NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO GROUP!

Nasus is nothing but a giant meatshield in teamfights, and frankly I don't trust my team to follow up after the enemy team throws literally every ult they have at me (this has happened). I would rather solo push a lane, since it takes at least 2, if not 3, enemies to stop me.

I have been reported by mid for not helping out his lane. I find this ridiculous. I'm top, I have zero obligation to help any lanes, you lost your lane fair and square and you are blaming top for not helping in order to make yourself feel better about your failure to protect your turret. My job is to farm like crazy so I become an unstoppable beast. And before you cry about the enemy toplaner ganking mid or teleporting bot, I pinged MIA twice. Your lack of map awareness is not my fault.

Is the Trist stupid in not grouping? Yes. Is it reportable? No.

No one can tell you how to play the game. Period. End of story.

Refusing to communicate shouldn't even be considered a reportable action, especially since some people have chat restrictions now.

I agree with everything you said. And I'm not siding with Trist. She was clearly toxic and deserved a report for another reason.

What I'm saying is that you shouldn't be FORCED to communicate and you shouldn't be FORCED to play a certain way.
