Dangers in deleting Duplicate files in League of Legends Directory.

I was wondering if I could delete duplicate files that I found using the duplicate finder s/w. I keep finding the same files in releases folder and I am asking whether I could delete the prev releases folder. Would deleting previous release folders affect the patching or the game itself? I am deleting these files to reduce the time to scan while updating and save the much needed very significant 100Mb out of my 100 Gb free space
