Why are there random friends?

I love Zac. He is my favorite champion. I want to know everything about him, but one thing caught my eye while reading his lore. He and Twitch are friends... Nothing in Zac's lore is about that. Also my other favorite champ Rammus. Is not friends with twitch. It is not in his lore. Dear Riot please explain these friends and enemies.
