When did one of the basics of online gaming become so frowned on. I'm talking, of course, about shit talking. People nowadays are just whiny little bitches "o no the bad man called me names on a video game". Shit talking was one of the major highlights of online gaming when it 1st started but now we have to create this "safe environment" for little children who can't handle shit talking or think that "cyber bullying" is a thing (off topic if you think cyber bullying is a problem CLOSE YOUR DAMN COMPUTER DUMBASS). TBH have the fun of being good at a game is rubbing in it the faces of the noobs you beat but today we have to be nice cause kids nowadays are whiny little bitches. Kids think the shit they see in-game chat is "toxic" have clearly never played Xbox Live in the beginning days or runescape or hell WoW pvp in the old days where if you played like shit you were told thinkgs that would probably make these kids today kill themselves. Rant over I guess.

You can view it as creating a child friendly environment, or you can view it as an attempt to create a true competitive environment. There's punishments for shit talking in regular sports, why not one of the leading esports as well?

Not all adults like to see other adults act like children, after all.

And this folks, is how you spot a 15 year old, or a man child living in his parent's basement.

So if it bothers you that much why play league? Go play your other shit-talking games. All you're doing is complaining about people complaining.

AKA. a whole lot of nothing.

If wanting a harass free gaming environment is being babies, then is swearing, cursing and insulting a person online making you a tough guy?

I don't think you can go around shiet talking in irl games or sports either, so why should video games be different?

You do realize if someone kills themselves for something you said to them that's called Manslaughter right?

Since when has good sportsman like conduct been a bad thing. Gaming is as much a sport as any. People will always boast about their skill. Whether they are over-payed athletes, or they are Doublelift, shit talk will happen. I find it completely okay for this to take place, as long as it isn't so obsessive that you literally have to mute the guy. Boasting should feel good. Everyone wants to feel good about winning something. So with that said I think their is a difference at being toxic, and boasting. Saying your better than someone is "Okay" in my opinion. Saying someone sucks and should uninstall is a bit over the top. Just my Opinion and as a fellow gamer, I do not support your opinion that shit talking is a major highlight of gaming and/or was. Maybe that is a fact that it was, but certainly as more people of all ages move into the digital age, where a lot if not most of us spend all of our time, that we try to contribute to a less shit talking environment.

Honestly, I kind of have to agree with you. People these days don't have any tolerance for trash talking. I have no idea why it is such a big idea. Toxicity is annoying, disrespecting is annoying, but who does it hurt? I know the audience for this game is sometimes younger, but they're going to see this no matter where they go. I bet that kids in primary school here stuff like this on the playground these days. It's my opinion that they should just get used to it, because it's really not going anywhere. Everyone should. I don't know how people go through life if this stuff bothers them that much.

Even if you argue that a competitive environment should be completely unfettered by trash talk, but I say that trash talk is a distraction, and should only affect you if you're a bad player... or at least, being affected by trash talk can prevent you from being a good player.
