For all you Taric fans out there, I encourage you to take these final few hours to play a last game with his strange, antiquated, point-and-clicky... yet much beloved old kit, let him carry you one more time on his gem-plated shoulders, and share your stories here. I know I'm really gonna miss confusing people in champ select, pulling off dazzling ganks, and shattering those silly full AD teams with my secret jungle Taric build... Tomorrow, the Shield of Valoran may be reborn into a modern champion, but tonight, let us celebrate the outrageous times we've had with his original incarnation and bask in his radiance one last time.

My favorite moments are getting 1v2d in top or even 1v3d and killing them all. For maximum tilt, all you have to say in /allchat is one word:

"Gems." It gets them every time. I'll miss this character in particular a lot. The passive aggressive laughing. The loony taunts and jokes. The flamboyant yet outdated model. Every game I played as Taric felt infinitely less toxic due to how outrageous he was as a character. Never forget the old Taric.

Its removal made me give up on Taric jungle because the clear speed was too slow without it.

I feel like using "good" to describe someones ability to play old taric is a bit of a misnomer. Its a bit like saying a "good" garen or a "good" warwick. You don't play against the other summoner when they play champions like that you just play against the champion itself.

How to win as old Taric top: Play passive until 6, wait for enemy to all in, ult, w, stun, watch the minions melt them.

Targeted abilities should be a thing. Soon there won't be a single beginner friendly champion in the game if they keep reworking champs that are fine where they are at. Every single champion they have reworked has had their targeted ability removed. Ryze, Taric, Sion, Shen, Zilean, Soraka. Those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. It is clear that Riot is going to remove every single single targeted ability there is which will basically be removing a lot of the easier champions to play for less experienced players.

Targeted abilities in general are ok as long as skillshots with a similar purpose are more powerful somehow. Targeted-hard cc is different it really shouldn't exist. It takes a lot of the inter-activeness league has and takes it out of the game. You can't outplay it, and it never feels good or fair to the player it is being used against. It also sets up chain cc way to easily. I can outplay morg snare, blitz hook, and any other critical cc ability all day but if you add a ryze snare or old taric stun to the mix it ends up being a game of flash into range and create a guarenteed kill scenario.

That's why I don't see a problem with it. For dazzle to have any effect the enemy it is being used on must be out of position. About a 1 second stun against a front line champion doesn't do hardly anything to them and it would be a total waste for Taric to stun a fighter or tank in the front line when the cooldown is 16 seconds. In order for him to stun anyone worth stunning they either have to be out of position or Taric must put himself out of position.

He's a tank, his position is in the middle of the enemy team, i.e. in range of the backline. He had absolutly no peel besides a shitty stun which isn't going to do much work so he should just be wading into the enemy team to try and draw focus and get a stun on the adc so a diver can go in and blow them up.

Lol taric sucks he doesn't carry anyone. All you have to do is have AP on your team and 60% of the power on his kit is useless. He was only good when it was an all ad team vs. an all ad team.
