One thing the new client is good for:

It has weeded out a lot of players with crappy pings. If you were lagging before, you're probably lagging way worse on the new client, or arriving to the Champ select screen very late.

Seriously though. Every game someone highlights their ping in chat, and some of them are crazy! Can you see the screen at 1400ms? Maybe I'm misunderstanding the terms ping and lag and latency, but that can't be good. I'm guessing you probably shouldn't be playing if your ping is that high.

Since the new client I have seen less of it, but not because it's faster, LOL. Just sayin'. The only way around the new client is to get a new, decent PC or a better connection, or both. Or quit. With the AFK issues some of you have, it should be the latter. It's frustrating for everyone. So why don't you just sit out the next few hundred games, until you can achieve better PC speed.

I can tell you don't own a business, nor will you ever own a successful one if your opening remarks have to do with how good it is that people are "weeded out" by a process.

  1. Bad internet connection has nothing to do with the Legacy client or the new client. If someone had a bad ping before then they would still have one.

  2. The Game client was not updated, just the Legacy client, know the difference.

The new client has numerous bugs that have either been ignored or are still not fixed. My machine is pretty solid and it runs the new client and game client just fine---except that if I leave the new client open for a day or so the sounds during champ select or highlighting menus gets extremely choppy... this implies some type of memory leak or a bad interaction with the sond drivers, but I've tested it on one of my old machiens as well (which has a much better sound card that I use for production) and it, too, does the same thing whereby the sound gets all choppy after a period of time.

The new client has issues, but it's not about ping.. it's strictly that Riot forced a client down our throats that they had to know was buggy.
