Winning in Ranked Flex - Is it even worth it?

So with the new season came the beautiful new Ranked mode known as Flex queue. Granted, I was Plat V at the end of season 6 so I knew I wouldn't be placed that highly. So I go through the 10 placement games and end up in Silver III. I'm not tripping. I play a couple games and go up in my promos to Silver I. At this point I'm at 40lp and I'm ready to be Gold again very soon (gaining 30lp/win and -12lp/loss). The next day there's a new placement where I only have to play 1 game. I'm like cool I might get back to Gold quicker now (had a friend go from Silver V - Gold V from that one game). I play my game and our team loses no big deal. I get a notification... You've been placed in Silver III. I'm just like... How the heck did I go so far back. I'm not sure if anything similar to this has happened to you guys but I literally went down from 1 to 3 from a single match. Do you guys think this was fair? Let me know!

Same thing happened to me. I climbed a bit and dropped to the exact same spot I started.

Literally no other games (from Season 7) were factored into your rank. They ONLY use the ONE new "Extra Placement" to place you. Meaning your ?/10 placements don't matter, any other games don't matter, they only used the 1 new game to place you. And at that, I assume, place you mega low; as they did to literally everyone. They claim this is all on purpose and isn't a bug; basically a good old middle finger to guys/gals like you and me.

Because of the MMR mismatch in Flex Queue, you got reset to the original starting point (pre placements). But remember this is only Preseason, the rank you accomplish now WILL BE RESET AGAIN! The rank you get in preseason does only influnece the placement in Season 7 to a SMALL extend! (only your starting point in season 7 is affected by Preseason ranks) Sidenote: 1-2 Tier drops are completely normal in preseason.

I.E.: You were Plat 5 at the end of the season, were placed high Silver after placements, now got placed low Silver. If you now climb to Plat again, you will then only be placed in low Gold at the start of Season 7!

So dont worry to much about the current placement!
