Download client filled with viruses?!

So I've been away from League for quite some time now. I got fed up with randoms always gutting each other for every small mistake, and I felt out of place in the absolute flame wars in the victory / defeat screens at the end of every game. I'm not sure if that's still heavily prominent in today's League, but regardless I felt the urge to play it again so I proceeded to the League of Legends homepage to download the game.

The download client appears as normal and guides me through the setup wizard until the game is installed. After that, the client proceeds to download the numerous amounts of patches that take quite a bit of time to do. A half hour goes by before I get a prompt that Pando Media Booster needs to be "updated." I know PMB has a bad reputation, and I was all for clicking against installing it onto my computer, but I thought I was going to have to at least endure the installation to get the League of Legends client to download properly.

So I install it, clicking through the Terms of Service without caring, just hoping to get to the uninstall button faster. However, as Pando Media Booster runs its own setup wizard, I notice two very strange and unfamiliar shortcuts appearing on my desktop. They've already been uninstalled and dealt with, but they were definitely forms of adware and malware! One of them was called "Optimizer"-something-or-other, and I do not recall what the other program was.

However, this is a HUGE discouragement for me! The original reason I left League was because I was sick of the absolutely spiteful players, but now even Riot is trying to get under my skin by including all of these nasty viruses in their download client?! Seriously...what keeps you guys playing?

TL;DR version: There's all kinds of viruses in your download client, Riot. summoner 3

Unless you downloaded this directly from riots website itself, you have no reason to complain, you probably aren't very tech savvy if you can't smell a virus from miles away LOL, it all begins with the famous, yes install or no do not, read what you click, or let me give you a loan just sign the dotted line ignore the fine print!

Check if that was from riot. I didn't have any viruses in my downloads.

Viruses can attach more viruses to non-infected programs.
