Summoner Name Cleanup

The new system for Summoner Name Cleanup is a great leap forward for allowing change in summoner names. I especially like the part about allowing summoner name changes for IP. One way that I think Riot could increase customer satisfaction is by allowing users to place a request on a certain summoner name that is currently held, and be notified when/if it becomes available. Conveniently, Riot has also just verified numerous email addresses through the email verification push (thanks for the IP boost!). While it is difficult to estimate how much impact this system of availability-notification would have, it is certain to increase customer satisfaction as information is made more readily available to Riots customers. It will also increase business for Riot as it increases the likelihood of players purchasing name changes. Implementing this feature would not be incredibly difficult if email was used as the method for contacting players. The game client would not require even the slightest modification. Only the newly implemented cleanup process would have to be altered to also include notification of availability. This system is likely to increase both player satisfaction and Riot revenue. Let me know what you think! How likely would you as a player be to request notification for a particular name?

I think deploying soldiers ought to be able to put their accounts "on hold" so they don't lose their name while serving overseas.

This is actually a pretty good idea. The only blatant issue I see with it is that people could just submit lists of desirable names or high priority names on their account or smurfs to steal away names. Pretty petty and troll sort of material but still a minor concern.
