I mean, Sion is my tertiary main, I like him and all, but why is he always so popular here? Is it just because the rework was so well-done and he didn't really have his time in the spotlight for very long after it?
Because he is unpopular, and all unpopular champions are circle jerked to no end on these boards by all the posters that seem to want to be hipsters.
Because Riot gutted him and left him for dead after the Tank meta. Its not very fair to the Sion players for him to literately be in the same spot he was pre rework with just a different kit
Sion is one of those few champions who's kit fits so perfectly and snugly with his thematics and lore.
Not to mention his update has become the new standard for VO's in the future, and is arguably the best one yet. Gangplank comes close.
That "takes 3 seconds to detonate W instead of 2" change really kicked him in the nuts. Cz of this, to most new players Sion seems to be pretty slow & clunky.
I find myself asking that same question and I'm really not sure... Definitely makes it hard to keep up with it all though... XD
