Top 10 Mid Laners

Hey guys! I am a level 15 summoner that is quite good but still definitely not a master. I have top lane down with Irelia and Jayce, and I have bot lane down with Corki and Lucian, but I don't have a good mid laner. So, I was wondering if any of you awesome people out there could help me with choosing. So, if you could make a top 10 or top 5 or top whatever list of mid lane champions that are not too hard to play, (I can play pretty hard champions, just not Azir and Syndra and people like that) I would really be grateful. Thanks!

**Top Tier ** Single Target Assassins: Fizz Zed Ahri Strong Teamfight (w/ utility): Azir Syndra Orianna Misc: Xerath Leblanc These champions stand out as being relatively strong within this meta because of their range/mobility/damage/etc.

Strong Jayce Karthus Katarina Velkoz Ziggs Lissandra Talon These champions are strong, but may have better counterparts from the upper tier.

Honorable Mentions Malzahar Akali Cassiopeia Galio Kennen Lulu Veigar Kayle Zyra These champions are viable, but are not quite as great as champions from the other tier.

Disclaimer: This is simply my opinion and used as a very basic rule of thumb. Of course, your skill with the champion is the key factor that dictates your performance with the champion. You can carry every game with the honorable mentions and get up ridiculously high in ranking; or, you could be destroyed every game with the "top tier" champions. Honestly, pretty much anything is viable and can carry a game with enough skill.

yasuo wasn't even mentioned.. it's not like that tiny nerf made him unplayable

Group 1 Orianna Alpha Mage - This champion does it all, strong wave clear, lots of utility and ridiculous aoe burst coupled with aoe cc.

Group 2 Ziggs Xerath Velkoz Safe - Strong - Long range champions with great wave clear.

Group 3 Akali Fizz Ahri Zed Strong single target assassins . Each of these have clearly defined strengths and weaknesses. Katarina Good aoe assassin with single target kill potential on carries when you obtain a dfg. (most fun champ in game) Weak early game, and is easily counter picked. Easy to pick up with some success, takes finesse and time to master. Learning how to lane against all of your counters (almost everything) and then learning how to team fight without being vaporized instantly without even ulting.

Group 4 Annie Anivia Cassiopeia Diana Azir Fiddlesticks Jayce Ashe Kayle Kennen Leblanc Lissandra Lucian Lulu Lux Malzahar Mordekaiser Morgana Nidalee Nunu Riven Rumble Ryze Swain Syndra Talon TwistedFate Vayne Vladimir Yasuo Zilean Zyra Viktor All of these can be really strong. All of these can be really weak. Mid lane is about match ups and you can literally play any thing mid.

If I were you I would learn 1 from each of these groups and since you already know jayce from group 4, pick another ap group 4 champion to round out your kit. This would give you 5 total mid laners. I would like to suggest Brand from group 4 because i find him to be the most fun (and zombie brand is still on sale).

Like those before me... Fizz, Zed, Ahri, Syndra, Orianna, Jayce, Talon (still good in my opinion), Xerath, Ryze, Kayle, Azir....Akali I guess.

TwistedFate If u know how to roam, TF a great pick, bit weak early, but has high damage and tons of utility mid to late. of u have the intuition and skill to tele effeciently with your ult and are effecient at picking the right card. this guy can be pretty deadly. definetly a harder guy to use.

Ryze Ryze IMO is a bit ridiculous in concept but pretty strong, along with antoher i will mention, vlad, i think theyre a bit better top but can easily be played mid. He has fantastic burst and a VERY low cooldown CC. he is the king of spamming, and has tons of mana considering his abilitys scale with it. he is also 450 IP :)

Vladimir Vlad is one of my favorite toplaners, but i occasionally take him mid. his late game is phenomenal along with his godly sustain from spell vamp and nonexistent mana. he does lack cc but makes up for it a bit with a really strong untargetable mechanic and immense damage and innate tankiness for a mage.

Viktor Viktor post rework i find quite strong. He isnt a bad laner, but late game he absolutely melts the enemy team with his deathray. i fond the combo r->q->e with a w on top is an easy instalkill off a flash in lane. he has really really high damage agter you get your e augment and items

Veigar this guy is really not meta, but i find alot of fun. he has a really strong CC with his w (cage with a hard stun) and is renowned for point and click instakills to other mages. i play him usually as an aggresive kill laner

Mordekaiser another i play more top lane, but in mid he wrecks alot of viable picks atm like fizz. he plays a mode of the game that is 6v4, HUE HUE HUE. very tanky mage with great damage mitigation and poke

these are not really meta picks, but my post is just detailing my favorites and those i find FUN to play a few others i own and use occasionally are Zed Gragas Fiddlesticks Yorick along with some adcs if ur looking for more meta u can look to the previous posts, but these ones i find a bit more fun. at lvl 15 IMO meta shouldnt be at the top of your worries, hope this helps :)
