Solo queue is the Ranked Draft Mode prior to Dynamic Queue (what we have today) Solo queue allowed you to play ranked solo, or with 1 other player. Your role was determined not by the client but by the team in Champion Select. Dynamic queue chooses your role based on your 2 preferred roles. People are angry due to the ability to queue up with 4 others in Dynamic Queue making Ranked less about skill and more about how many friends you bring. Thanks, that does! I'm almost level 30, but I usually don't play with others in premade games. Should I avoid getting ranked this season? Will solo queue ever come back?

Dynamic Queue is fine, but as a general rule of thumb, you might want to avoid starting ranked until you have at least 2 rune pages, and about 300-400 games after level 30. It sounds crazy but those extra games REALLY help. As for Solo Queue coming back, nobody really knows but there should be a good chance of it. there are a lot of YouTube and Reddit discussion videos about it, and you can check this one out on more information on the decision to remove it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahItzHevJxM

last season there were 2 ranked queues solo/duo and 5 man with dynamic queue there is no solo so you have a chance of playing agaisnt trios quads or 5 man groups which doesent really make for a true show of skill

You don't have to but if you go solo there is a high chance of you being placed solo with a group of 4 vs one solo (who is likely not in your lane) and a group of 4.

No. Here let me explain it in an adult way, not whatever that child did.

Last season, there were two queues for ranked. There was solo queue and 5-man.

Solo queue was either just you or you and a friend queuing up fighting other solo queue people (or duo queue). So maximum two people in a party for solo queue. If you wanted more, tough luck. You had to then make a whole 5 man team.

The 5 man team was you and 4 others making a team, name and all, and queuing vs other 5 man premades. This was all fair.

They've since then gotten rid of that. Now you can have as many people in a party as you want. So, it's possible you will queue up solo for ranked, get matched with 4 other people you've never seen, and then have to fight against a 5 man premade team who likely has Skype or something so better communication and a general game plan.

So basically, solo queue kept teams relatively even. Now the object is to queue with as many friends as possible for the advantage.
