Scary, Dangerous RANKED!

Hello people. I will soon be level 30, and that has got me wondering. I have been hearing horror stories everywhere I turn it seems about ranked games, especially when you are playing your first ones that decide where you will be placed. The way people talk about it, there is a way higher chance of feeders or afk's in these games, due in part to pressure I assume, or server overload; also, ranked in general is supposed to be very rage-filled and troll-filled in comparison to normals. I would figure it's just talk, but then it occured to me, trolls would probably gravitate to where their trolling could cause the most damage- people's placements. So what is the deal? Should I be paranoid and on guard when I begin ranked, or is it nothing to worry about?

Hmmm... I wouldn't worry too much about it if I were you. People tend to rage in both normals and ranked. I think people obsess over the blame game a bit more in ranked. People also tend to complain a lot about others' champion picks/bans in ranked.

Just treat ranked like normals, have fun, and don't be upset if/when you end up in Bronze/Silver. If you get tired of the grind and become disillusioned with rank, you can always go back to normals. By the way, ELO hell is 99% a myth. It only slightly exists for a couple weeks at the start of each season. After that, the deliberate feeders/afkers drop down to Bronze V where they only play with other "trolls"... and I assume they have the most fun out of all of us, playing base tag, hide and seek, and having wild dance parties together every game.

Just play your best everything else you cannot control.

I would very carefully decide if you are ready to handle all of those trolls. Since most of them live in Bronze 3-5. If you want to avoid being placed there, raise your MMR through Normal games first. Focus on farming. You cannot go wrong with getting 70 cs at the 10 min mark then getting 10 per min after that. Once you get into bronze, you will be subjected to bronze ragers and trolls. My advice, play normals until you cs better and have more map/ game awareness. That way you will get placed in silver or above. That will allow you to avoid 98% of the Ragers/AFK'ers Gangplank

It's nothing to worry about really. Not much different from normals when you get right down to it
