Making Kog'Maw Viable and Strong in Season 4 (What Riot should have done)
Foreword Before I begin, I would like to give some context on my changes, my stance on the -unfortunate- existence of AP Kog'Maw and its viability. Kog'maw as an AD Carry in the modern game is rather is an uncommon and rather weak pick due to a few things - his lack of mobility, his counter-intuitive Caustic Spittle Active, and Riot's unwillingness to buff him which I'm about to explain.
AP Kog'Maw is just as uncommon as AD Carry Kog'Maw, though this build path has some devastating potential. Were this potential to be unleashed, (AP) Kog'Maw would be branded 'Toxic' and nerfed (probably also indirectly nerfing AD Carry Kog'Maw). As such, Riot really need to -themselves- take a stance on AP vs. AD Carry Kog'Maw and buff/rework it into viability for the current season.
To my knowledge, thus far Kog'Maw has not been considered for proper buffs -beyond a change to Caustic Spittle which I actively campaigned against from the day it was added to the Beta Server- due to the possibility of indirectly buffing AP Kog'Maw.
Caustic Spittle (Q)
Passive: Increases Kog'Maw's Attack Speed. Active: Kog'Maw launches a corrosive projectile which deals magic damage and corrodes the target's Armor and Magic Resist for 4 seconds. While Bio-Arcane Barrage is active, this ability gains additional range.
Bio-Arcane Barrage (W)
Kog'Maw's attacks gain range and deal a percent of the target's maximum health as magic damage.
Void Ooze (E)
Kog'Maw launches a peculiar ooze which damages all enemies it passes through and leaves a trail which slows enemies who stand on it. Enemies hit are slowed for an additional amount and are marked with Acids. Kog'Maw can consume Acids with Auto-Attacks and abilities which grant him Movement speed for 2 seconds.
Living Artillery (R)
Kog'Maw fires a living artillery shell at a great distance dealing damage and revealing non-stealthed targets. Additionally, multiple Living Artilleries in a short period of time cause them to cost additional mana.[/QUOTE]

Other proposed alternative changes to Caustic Spittle:
- Allow the skill shot to go through multiple targets dealing reduced damage and reduced Armor and MR shred.
- Make the skill shot explode on impact and deal damage and apply to shred to nearby enemies. (similar to Quinn's 'Blinding Assault)
- Make the MR & Armor reduction a personal percentage. (A damage amplification for Kog'Maw alone)
