Normal games have the exact same, but separate, mmr system that ranked has.

Source: I've watched a challenger player level an account, and end up with 20 minute q's in normal games because of their MMR.

  1. It's normals where rank is irrelevant and shouldn't even be looked at.
  2. If you want to play with your elo only then play rank.
