Be that as it may (and many people, myself included, do agree with you), there isn't anywhere that says you HAVE to take Ranked games seriously, and thus we can't really punish people for not taking them seriously. Further, even if they are playing terribly or feeding, that doesn't give you the permission, authority, or excuse to retaliate by yelling at them, insulting them, or trying to make them miserable.

Riot only likes to punish the victims. If they were cops we'd have jails full of rape victims while the rapists were allowed to roam free like an LoL troll.

If he feeds intentionally and intentionally ignores his team's decisions he probably already has several reports against him, and will likely end up punished in the fullness of time. Riot's pretty good about banning intentional feeders, actually.
If you're banned as well, it's because you're also a bad influence to the team, and an unwelcome member of the community. Words from a stranger on the internet can ruin someone's game just as much (if not more) as a feeding teammate, and if you don't understand that than I, for one, am glad you've been banned. Both take the relaxation and gaming time of their teammates and turn it into a stressful situation that isn't fun in the slightest.
Sure, the person you verbally attack could mute you...but, on the flip side, you could realize it's just a game, man up, and deal with the fact that sometimes you get a troll or a feeder and just decide to have fun with the game and do your best regardless.
Long story short? Trolls and intentional feeders are bad news, and Riot needs to get better about banning them. But people who rage and insult their teammates are at least as bad, and, as you found out, Riot really doesn't want that sort of player playing their game.

You say that... and I'm sure you believe it... But from what I've noticed, tracked, documented, seen they Don't. Riot is Horrible at finding trolls OR they miss them on purpose.
I have a list of 30+ of the Worst trolls I've ever met in the game and not a single one has ever been punished. Even when lyte was giving out chat records Most were mild and he'd ignore quite a few, most likely because they were not bad enough to punish but were punished anyway.
Believe what you want of course but keep in mind how much you've really put into your opinion. The more you see the more you know and the less blind faith you need.

A very fair point. Here's the thing though: I never rage, rarely lose my temper, and never bait an ally or opponent who seems like they won't take it as a joke. The result? I can remember...maybe a dozen games where I've had a teammate so intent on feeding or so terribly toxic that it ruined my game experience. I have over 2k wins, and almost that number again in losses: that's a pretty good ratio.
Most of those games were a while ago as well: the number of toxic players of any level of toxicity that I've run into were 2+ years ago at this point. So something Riot is doing is working. They're not going to catch everyone, but they are doing a better and better job, at least from my perspective.
O and remember who riot likes to punish when you are responding to the trolls in your threads. I had a few threads closed and got a temp ban from forum for answering trolls back in the same tone they harassed me. You know riot, ban the victims of harassment who have the nerve to speak, Not the ones harassing.
This one makes perfect sense to me. They're probably watching both parties, honestly. Riot has, however, been very clear that responding to a toxic player by being toxic back at them is NOT acceptable. Ignore that warning at your own risk.
I mean...really. If we're saying being toxic isn't acceptable, why on earth would you be toxic back at someone and feel somehow justified? I always see the justification for "I can yell at someone...they can just mute me," so, by that logic, if someone is yelling at YOU just mute THEM. Or be the bigger man and ignore it. Either way, being toxic back just makes it worse for everyone in the game who ISN'T involved.
