New ranking system for qualifying games this season?

So out of my 10 games I won 7 and lost 3, yet I was put in bronze 2. In my same game another guy had the same thing happen to him as he had the same record, I'm just wondering why this is the new norm?! I'm really dissapointed that I got placed so low for my above average performance.
