So out of my 10 games I won 7 and lost 3, yet I was put in bronze 2. In my same game another guy had the same thing happen to him as he had the same record, I'm just wondering why this is the new norm?! I'm really dissapointed that I got placed so low for my above average performance.

That is exactly where you should have been placed.
Your MMR from Season 4 was still in play. This is not some sort of chance to magically get Gold from provisionals if you were bronze.
