League of Legends

I LOVE this game. I started playing in July of last year, stopped for a little while. Now I really got into it and at the moment I play this game everyday. I explore different champs on my smurf account. I wanna be world ranked someday (not likely though. Not very good yet). The one thing I can't stand has little to do with the game itself.

It's the people.

Not everyone. But it seems like every lobby I get into SOMEBODY is doing something to instigate or make people feel like shit. Why? Why does that have to happen. I understand that there is a mute button. But there shouldn't have to be a mute button. People should be respectful of others. If you don't want to help the new person, then don't be mean to them either. It's honestly worse than playing with 12 year olds on Call of Duty. If it wasn't for how much fun I have with this game then I might not play anymore, solely on the fact that people are so toxic for no apparent reason.

You are not going to win every game. So when you have someone that is doing bad, don't harass them. It's just not right.

I usually think people are joking when they say the League community is toxic, because the majority of the people I play with are friendly, helpful, and generally nice people.

Either that or they're intellectually challenged, but that's nothing they can do anything about.

ha ha ha ha. Your view of humanity. Good luck. Treat them as they are not how you wish them to be. People are shits cause this is the internet.

Ok we need the tribrunial back. We also should get rewards for making good judgements on reports.

I choose to be nice every game. I don't mute, even the most toxic of players. I still need to see communications from the team, there might be a pivotal play that happens because of something they say (I've had a few games where a player got muted by several people, but I had to relay important information they were noticing). All games have bad or toxic players, that doesn't mean you have to be. Even when people have their chins dragging, I choose to keep a positive happy thought. I can't change the world or the way people play, but I can control how I play.

I'm implying something, but the general trend is that anyone who complains about the community is themselves toxic.

Lyte did some research into it awhile back and everyone who commented saying the community was shit were the only people actually being toxic.

Surprisingly actually toxic people are a very rare occurrence.

Wait, what? This is League of Legends?

Welcome to the cancer known as the minority of LoL players. All it takes though is one out of the ten to make the match toxic. Just be sure to use that nifty report feature. Sooner or later, they will be quiet :p

hey if you really feel like this toss me an add :D we would probably get along

The entire game design revolves around monetizing toxic players. If you don't give toxic players somebody to grief, they get bored and move on. Hence LOL is free because YOU are the product they are serving to paying players. All the rest, the tribunal, moderation, dev posts, etc... its all smoke and mirrors. They rarely if ever ban (if you don't believe try to actually get a ban, you have to be so egregiously toxic is ridiculous to even get a day or 2 ban), the 'reporting' system is intentionally ineffective and ambiguous, and the game design at its very core is selfish.

People are A-Holes...if you were to actually be forced to interact with as many people in person as you do online...you would notice the same trend. Mankind has many problems...and rarely is able to get along with itself. Its why war is even a thing.

If someone is doing bad they should be flamed, if you suck quit playing. This is a team game of u make your team lose u get punished not fair for 9 people playing good and the deciding factor is you being shit get harassed get better end the toxicness

Nucleophilic atk4/14/2015, 7:25:30 PM1 votes

Well, according to Mr. Lyte, only like 1% of the community is toxic. He says that if you find the % is higher, YOU are the cause of the toxicity.

Yeah, I also find it bullshit lol. I don't even care if people say mean things..since you can easily mute them. The problem I have is with the feeders.

I realize the severity of the troll situation and the immaturity of the people who play this game. There is no short-term fix no matter what you may want to try. TRY TEAMBUILDER! I have yet to find someone (intentionally) trolling my game, mostly because teams are reviewed by the owner before going into a game. You also have the option of leaving a lobby to find a new team if someone looks as if they might troll. Once you get the "new champion adjustments" inactive, then you really begin to play with strong players who can actually work as a good team(btw the way to make the adjustments inactive is to play a certain champion many times, and it makes the game believe you are now skilled at that champion). I used to play Blind Queue and I absolutely hated it, someone usually dodged, and I almost never got my ideal lane and champion. I always had someone doing really badly or just completely exaggerating every mistake they made, as if it was fatal to them.

Play Teambuilder, the ONLY downsides are the wait times, which are irrelevant if you pick ADC, Jungle, or Support. You find the team you want, at the skill level(hopefully) you want, and you play against a competent enemy who will (hopefully) be sportsmanlike. :)

Am I the only person who feels like the rioter on here is attacking the person who posted this more than trying to give him advice? His second comment was nice kind of.

Grow some hair on your chest and be a Gentlemen, grow up a bit and think before you speak, most likely should just refrain from typing unless it's gameplay related. It takes a second person to take the instigation bait so don't be that guy.
