How to make Low priority Que seem... better..

I learned quickly how to put up with the annoying wait before a game. but sometimes its hard to find a good hour and a half your family will leave you alone.. I'm sure everyone here know's how that feels... can't always say "I just need... 30 more minutes...Q_Q"

hour and a half - 1 hour for the game 20 minute wait.. and an extra 10 minutes if the game is longer then expected.. (I had a 2 hour game once.. it was the greatest thing both teams were soooo close..)

Then you can use the 5- 20 minute wait to do what you need to do... Grab a snack, take a cat nap. Other things, watch a funny video.... share the funny video with your friends just before they start the Que so everyone can enjoy it before the game. Especially if you all enjoy the same you tuber..

I just wish for a way to minimize the countdown so we can perhaps purchase something in the shop and mess with our runes and mysteries.. Don't expect people to actually watch the countdown like the new years ball drop...

My first low priority Que wait.. Was my friends... and I went AFK saying BRB... and I come back and I see the low priority Que thing.. I thought that button on it meant "Okay" and I could click it and It'd minimize it (I DIDNT READ IT) .. BUT IT CANCELED THE QUE AND I FELT LIKE SUCH......

We had to re-wait.... I had to apologize... many... many... many times...

Are you referring to the low-priority queue that's supposed to be a punishment for poor behavior in LoL?

There is no low priority queue for poor behavior. There's low priority queue for disconnecting/AFKing a game, whether that be intentional or unintentional.

Okay. Still, I doubt Riot will implement anything to make an experience that's supposed to be a punishment better for those being punished. Though, I am assuming that system is designed to be a punishment.

the sad reality. people have been complaining about it since day one and riot does not give a damn. My old 2009 laptop used to overheat just from leaving the leaverbuster sit there for 20 minutes.

That laptop sounds like it might have some other issues when trying to play League as well. A 2009 Laptop is like six years old at this point, though I don't know when you last used that laptop to game. Most of my laptops have a healthy, gaming lifespan of about 2 years though. After that, you have to know what you're getting into. When you play League, you are kind of saying to Riot, "I'm going to use the appropriate equipment (in healthy condition) to play this game so that I don't impose on the quality of the experience for other players." Phew, that was a long quote. Sorry.

I replaced it almost a year ago, last November. It was still well within the minimum specifications, mind you. I got a consistent 30 fps in game. It's just that the client took up a large portion of my laptop's resources and I just had to let it sit there with nothing else running.

I game on a laptop too, so I understand the pain. In my own experiences, it's may laptop's hardware that goes first. While it may meet League's pre-reqs, if it's old and overheating than that means parts of the physical laptop might not be aging well. My first laptop used to suffer terrible screen tearing if I played more than two games of League in a row. It was more from overheating than not meeting system requirements.

Yes, not many can really say they've never experienced a low priority Que... either by themselves or by a friend...

and it's not for poor behavior.. most people get it because of AFK.

and lets face it..** anyone who lives with other people can never say they have not ever gone AFK. **

I've been playing since before Season 1 and I've never gotten one. I have gone AFK or had to leave a game when life (read: wife) comes crashing in (sometimes literally). Only once did I get a warning after the match actually ended. However, AFK/leaving is something that is viewed negatively by Riot. I'd say that to get a Low Priority Queue you'd have to have this happen quite a bit, in repetition. Over all, I'd say the system is forgiving for the rare occurrences.

I didn't mean to turn this into a punishment thread though. I'm just saying, I wouldn't get my hopes up for Riot to make an experience that supposed to be a punishment easier on the person being "punished".

I haven't gotten it myself but it's rude to others who have gotten it to bluntly brag about it... so i made it a more neutral post.. if you didn't notice...

Like you said, you've gone AFK before Because of your Wife. many people have more people in the household then 2 people.

so those emergency AFKs happen more often then not.. and there's nothing you can do about it..

My intent wasn't to brag so I apologize for that. I thought my statement ("I've been playing since before Season 1 and I've never gotten one.") was fairly neutral. I don't think not getting punished is something to brag about. I don't think many things are something to brag about. Unless you can do the beer mile under five minutes. That you can brag about. (This is a joke!)

My point was that I understand things come up and I'm sure Riot does too. However, my concern is when things are "coming up" with the consistency to warrant Riot having to put you on the low priority queue. At that point, as much as it would suck, life is clearly saying there should be a priority of something else other than League. For example, if I am forced to leave a game/AFK on a daily basis, than maybe I shouldn't be playing League on a daily basis if my life is so hectic that it is becoming an issue for my own enjoyment of the game and those of others in the game. It's just one of those things where people have to know going in that if they have to leave, there are some repercussions for it, especially if it happens with consistency. It is having a negative effect on the game for 4 to 9 other players in the game.

Two TLDRS:

  1. I just don't think Riot will invest time and effort into making a punishment less "painful".

  2. If emergencies are happening so frequently that you get put on low priority queue, then they aren't emergencies, they're just commonplace. That's fine. Life should trump League. It's just also fair to expect to be put in a 'punishment' queue because of the negative effects it's having on the experience of others. (okay, this 2nd one was kind of long).

i have never willingly gone afk. two times we had a tornado warning, two times i had a power outage and one time i had an internet outage and one time the lol server went down and i still got the leaverbuster warning. this is all my leaves since season 2. if you get an LPQ, you most probably deserve it! If you know your connection isnt stable, play bots. Dont gamble on a possible good connection. If your connection sucks dont play pvp.
