New LeaverBuster System = Bad Plan

With the new leaverbuster system, after your first afk Riot asks you to agree to a contract promising you will never afk again. Can you believe that? Do they really believe people are Never Again going leave a video game? Because even though a lot of people take it way too seriously, that is what League of Legends is. Its just a stupid video game.

Maybe in ranked this would make some kind of sense. But I don't play ranked. I play for fun. I don't always play my best champs and I don't always try my hardest. And if Anything comes up in real life, anything at all, I'm going to afk and go do that instead. Because its only a video game.

Some of these games take 40-50 minutes or more. Do they really expect people to clear their schedules, make sure they have used the bathroom or can hold it in, and tell family and friends not to disturb them because they are playing a game for the next hour? That is beyond stupid. It's a video game. Many players are never going to prioritize a video game over real life.

I don't deny that leavers are a problem. Playing 4v5 sucks. But Riot is putting the blame on the players for having a life or a bad internet connection when really it is a problem with their game that they could fix with a little effort.

Why not put in a replacement player system where if someone leaves the game a new player can enter for bonus IP or some incentive. It wouldn't even have to be a player. you could just let a bot take over their character. What about giving the remaining players an appropriate damage boost if one of their teammates leaves? How about if a player leaves from one team a player gets kicked from the other team but gets winning IP?

There are many ways it could be done in-game instead of just punishing players and punishing them worse. That is lazy and it is no answer for the problem. People are going to leave games. On accident or on purpose its going to happen no matter how devastating the punishment is. The answer is to fix the game.

I like your suggestions, they seem more amiable towards the unintentional leaves.

I sometimes wish Riot would share with us the actual numbers of certain instances. Like how many reports are for leave/afk/ vs how many reported for feeding, vs how many reported for toxicity. How many reports are false. What level players are submitting the most reports. What are the number differences in ranked, normal, team builder and ai vs bots.

I appreciate your making suggestions that may be viable and fair.
