How Does The Ranked System Work?

I started playing LoL around this summer, in the middle of June or July. Im currently in Silver 3, bc I got promoted to it, from Silver 4. I have a LOT of questions about the ranked system:

Right when I got to Silver 3, I started with 0 LP and lost 3-4 ranked games right after. I didn't get demoted somehow. Why? Im sitting here with -3LP and I'm confused if it is a glitch or not.
Say if I'm in Silver 5 at 0 LP and 1 lose a ranked. Do I go down to Bronze 1, Bronze 5, or not go down at all?
Do you LP gain/loss increase or decrease depending on your KDA? (For example, you win, but you are 4/7, do you get less LP?)

If I remember right, there's a short grace period right after you get promoted where you can't get demoted. Furthermore, the only way to hit negative LP is by dodging. Losses only get you to 0.

Each subsequent loss increases the chance of being demoted. For tier demotions, officially you have to have the average MMR of someone a full tier below (e.g. someone B1 in this case). If you did get demoted, you'd go from S5 to B1.

There are basically 2 layers of the ranking system. There is your league rank which is what you see everywhere, that is like silver 3, gold 5, diamond 2, etc. Then there is your MMR(match making rating) which is hidden. It is a numeric value to your rank. Each league rank has an expected MMR range. When your MMR is higher than that you will gain more LP for wins and lose less for losses. When your MMR is below that you will lose more LP in losses and gain less in wins. This happens from having a win rate above or below 50%, it also is a result of losing games at 0LP, since your MMR still goes down but your league rank doesn't.

Win a match your MMR goes up a little and you will then be matched with and against slightly better players. Lose a match and your MMR goes down a little and you will be matched with and against slightly worse players.

The -3 LP comes from dodge penalty when you are at 0 LP since it wont demote you for that. That is the only thing that sends you to negative LP, anything else would leave you at 0 or demote you.

For demotions there is a short protection from being demoted right after you get promoted. After that getting demoted has to do with your MMR dropping far enough below your league rank.

If you get demoted from say silver 5 you will go to bronze 1.
