why does everyone want to support in ranked?

Im a support main and i ended up one because no one else wants to support when in normals and i was a nice enough person to take the scraps. Support is the least wanted role in normals but in ranked support is suddenly popular?

because people want to win all their promotional matches and know that they'll feed if they go in any other lane
