Why don't the Loading Screen borders change based off your current placement in Ranked? In other words, why do the borders only update once per year (at the end of the season). It seems it would make more sense to update the borders when you changed Tiers. I mean, if you are just wanting to keep their stats at the end of the season displayable, just keep it on their Profile page.
It would encourage stagnating at a "hard to get" rank. It would also means that elo boosting would be an instant reward.
And it would also remove one important end season reward.
So how is that different from now, exactly?
Who cares about elo boosters? Why don't we fix the real problem of elo boosters rather than making design decisions that discourage 99.9% of normal players? That is like saying the pharmaceutical industry should stop making medications to treat illnesses and diseases because there is a chance that people are going to use them to make illegal drugs. It's the exact same concept.
That is part of the downfall of only calculating your current rank at one point in time - it only matters on one date and time. It never encourages or motivates you throughout the entirety of the season. The "climb" shouldn't be about one date and time - it should be your journey throughout the year.
