Fiora's sword

So I'm a relatively avid fan of Fiora and her kit and thematic, but can anyone (maybe even someone from Riot) tell me if her sword is based on any real fencing sword? Or if it bears a resemblance to one? Thanks

i hate how it looks on the project skin skin. its too wide/big for fencing but has cool effects
