Are chat ban punishments accumulative or based on severity?

Just got my latest 62 game chat ban after screaming at some dude. I dont tell people to uninstall or kill themselves, or use racial slurs. I just call them bad and laugh.

Anyways the point is, does the number of games you are chat banned depend on how toxic you are or how many bans you have gotten previously?

Because if it is solely based on previous bans... doesnt that encourage people to just create new accounts? Because I know I am tempted to just regrind a new account.

I feel like this question should never be answered so people like OP cannot attempt to abuse the system.

I dont want to abuse the system. I just dont like going 2 months without a chat ban to log in and find oh look 62 game ban suddenly because I am pretty dam sure it just takes your previous ban amount adds 5-10 and gives you that much next time.

Which just encourages people to remake accounts instead of trying to fix their old ones.

I could level several accounts to 30 and troll all day in the time it takes me to clear 62 games of chat bans.

I've heard of some trolls reporting abuse/harassment just to get others banned. Troll-reporting to ban innocent people is pretty messed up.

I'm assuming it is cumulative. It should work the same way as the old bans did I think, being that as you gradually get punished more and more, you will end up with more severe punishments. Since you have just chat bans, I guess it would be temporary bans to maybe permanent ban. I say you can try to make a new account, but if you are a repeat offender, I don't really know what it will do, as you have a high chance of getting a ban on that new account as well. From my understanding, RIOT has been taking new measures to stop toxic behavior so in the end, you're going to have to stop what you are doing to get yourself these bans if you want to keep playing.
