Being a team player
I'm sure we've all encountered a player here and there who is just a straight up jerk. Many times a lot of us were that jerk. Someone who insults someone else's gameplay, calling them terrible yada yada.
There is something I feel both parties need to know about LoL, I see the same issues every time.
#1: LoL is a TEAM BASED GAME. Yes, we know "it's just a game" so you want us to "shut up and have fun" well, check it out: if you try to jungle as Janna without smite, stacking AD, we're gonna correct you, because we're a team. And in order to work as a team, we want you to know that Janna is not a jungler at all, and she needs AP to thrive. Not because we want to ruin your fun, but to INCREASE ALL of our fun. If you don't listen, and we tell you you're doing something wrong (constructively of course) you can't be mad when we're mad because you aren't being a team player. To players who aren't a pro at LoL (and I mean PROFESSIONAL) we all have something to learn, so be open-minded. Please.
#2: For those doing the correcting... sometimes you don't even correct. Throwing insult after insult "you're trash", "f*ckin noob", or here's my favorite "plz uninstall k thx". Do you jerks not realize that without all of the people playing LoL, that there would be no LoL? You play this game and you love it if it makes you mad enough to yell at someone, but noone ever stops to think "if everyone who was ever trolled on or insulted quit playing, there wouldn't be a game", but this is absolutely true. From someone who's passionate about gaming, it legitimately hurts to see the amount of disrespect that can come out of a person through the internet in general, but you take that disrespect and your inability to control the things you say and bring it into a wonderful place, created by geniuses and thriving thanks to ALL OF OUR COMMUNITY, and think it's ok? A lot of people work their @$$es off to make this game what it is, and a lot of people pay money and invest time into loving this game, and they don't even have to!!!! IT'S FREE FOR CHRISTMAS SAKE!!!!. Don't you think it's great that as soon as you enter a game, you instantly have something in common with the other 9 players? Forget about everything else, if you met these 9 players irl, and LoL happened to be brought up, INSTA FRIEND! I remember this guy who I worked with used to hate me for like half a year, and a game somehow got brought up that we both played and we looked at each other like a stepbrother's moment "did we just become best friends?" and were totally chill after that.
K maybe I trailed off a bit, but the main point is there. If you love playing this game so much, then how much do you think everyone else likes playing it? Respect each other, help each other, and be willing to accept the criticisms people give you. In the big picture, it isn't just a 5v5 on summoners rift. it's a 13.5 MILLION VS. 13.5 MILLION on planet earth, so be a team player. Think about it, will ya :)
