Why are people so willing to play with obvious trolls?

I just dodged a game in my series due to our first pick going Azir jungle. Now I did not immediately dodge I asked why not just go mid or top. I was responded to with the usual "Check my history bruh". So I went to op.gg and checked his history...this guy had a 33% win rate with Azir and 8 out of his last 10 games were losses with him having nowhere near a positive KDA. I decided to inform the rest of the team of this and they say "It's ok I'll trust him" or "Don't worry I'll carry". Why are people so willing to waste time in a game with a troll rather than take a dodge?
