Two Servers?

I know Riot doesn't want to split the player community, but why does having two or more servers have to split anything? Everyone would have lower ping with more servers, and if you wanted to play with your friends on the other side of the nation, you should be able to. The only difference you would have if you queued with your friends across the nation is that it might take longer to find suitable opponents in that particular range of latency.

Moving the server to accommodate one group of players at the expense of others doesn't make any sense. Riot should use multiple servers and determine which one you play on by the best connection for everyone in your game.

EU has two servers and its land mass is roughly half that of the US, which riot descides as likely a business decision to move their server to the population's largest areas instead of having two as east coast has gg riot

Do you think Alaska and Hawaii can "deal" with the small ping increase? I'm proposing something that would benefit everyone, not simply the majority of players.

There are some things in this game that you can't perform with high ping.

hawaii and alaska are the ONLY people i feel sorry for. west coasters i have 0 sympathy for. that is just me though and probable many other mid US/east coasters too. I'm sure that hawaii already used OCE servers anyway I'm honestly unsure of what server most them were on, maybe some were on NA.

Why do you have zero sympathy for the West coast and only for Hawaii and Alaska? Do you not see my purpose in that everyone should be able to play at low ping?

two servers means you can't play together is what you probable dont understand. As far as i know East europe and west europe never get matched with each other, because they are different servers. there is no middle man. so when they say "we don't want to split the community" they mean "we are not making two servers because it will cut the community in half" I also have no sympathy for most west coasters because when i was at like 90-100 ping most were all like "pings nothing get over it" or something and now you guys cry over 70 ping, which is still less then i ever had.

I don't think you read my first post... You would be able to play with anyone, just somebody that you are playing with is going to have to have higher ping, because they are connecting to a server further away. Every other multiplayer game does this...

but riot doesnt have you playing with people from EU or korea or anything. there servers are not interconnected like other games

but riot doesnt have you playing with people from EU or korea or anything. there servers are not interconnected like other games

Other games don't have you playing with Europe or Korea normally, but you can certainly queue with friends in other countries. For League of Legends, I am saying there should be multiple North American servers and all categorized as one region. Now when you queue for a game, league determines the best server among North American region for you and all other 9 players in your game to play in. Does this make sense?

or instead of having to constantly going between 30 ping and 90 ping id rather stick with them just keeping it on the east instead of going back and forth :)Cause yeah we delt with it a long time i'm sure you west coasters can manage a ping that is higher but not as bad as ours ever was.

So you're arguing that because East coast dealt with it for a long time, the West coast should have to endure it as well?

the ping probable isnt even that "high" and im just saying what most west coasters said for the longest time "ping has nothing to do with the game blah blah blah" Just deal with it or leave the game if you hate it so much. riot made the move and im 100% glad they did. I have really no more to say other then that i'm glad the move happened
